I got a 1998 ford escort SE, automatic it has hesitation/**** on take off till 30mph then it good fast and strong. When I put it in reverse I have the same hesitation too . Tyranny seems to engage slow at first. I had tyranny fluid and new filter installed. Put new speed sensor in. could it be a flex plate?? Any way to tell?

If you mean the fuel pump re-set button, Fords used to put them in the trunk area, maybe behind a trim or moulding piece. If it's not there, you may have to check with the dealer, or someone familiar with later Escorts. Good luck.
There is a switch between the brake and the transmission. I forget what its called but unless you have your brake pedal pressed your car will not shift out of park. If you do have your brake pedal pressed there may be something wrong with the sensor.
