I want to test my truck to trailer electrical connection with my INNOVA 3300. There are 5 prongs coming from the truck and one of them isn't sending the signal to the trailer. I want to find out which one. What setting should I use on the INNOVA 3300?

My trailer that has electric brakes installed and a 7 prong plug connector. My Tundra has a tow package with a 7 prong plug.

One of the vehicles would also need to be fitted with a electric brake controller. If the Tundra already has one fitted then the answer would have a 99% chance of yes.

Would like to know what electrical amps this travel trailer uses at camp sites

Sure would be helpful if you'd say more about the trailer... like what MAKE of trailer it is, what YEAR and SIZE of trailer it is... but never mind that. SIMPLY LOOK AT THE PLUG. IF IT IS A BIG APPLIANCE SIZE PLUG WITH FOUR PRONGS, IT IS LIKELY A 50 AMP PLUG, AND IF IT IS A BIG APPLIANCE SIZE PLUG WITH THREE PRONGS, IT IS LIKELY A 30 AMP PLUG. If it is a regular size three prong plug (like you'd plug into the wall), it is a 15 Amp plug.

if there is a power problem then the corresponding lights of the vehicle will out as well. If they work check where the harness is plugged in and check the connection.

I have a problem when hooking up a trailer, the brake and turn signals work fine, but the lights that come on when you turn the headlights on do not, it is not a fuse problem, as the fuse is fine, and it...

test the connection with lights on using a test light, if none turn the test light on, make sure the ground is good, recheck your new connection. maybe it's connected to a relay, if it is, test the relay by bypassing it. it's all a process of elimination. a wiring diagram for a trailer is useless because people hook them up by the means they got. again, it's a process of elimination. to hook up the lighting, first do the tail lights, then the signal lights, thay are also used as brake lights as they are brighter

With 4 prong and 3 extra, that will give you what you need for 7 prong for towing RV. If your not too experienced in that area, a mechanic at any trailer place, or hitch installation place or who knows RV wiring, should be able to do it for you in about 1/2 hr. or less. Testing the wires from your truck for what they do as in right , left, stop, running/taillights, etc is about the hardest part, and the 7 prong usually comes with what terminal does what.48e2ffb.jpg

I lost the light in the 2003 Duramax a few week ago.I just found a blown fuse under the hood in that big fuse panel by the driver side. It was the 15 amp mini fuse on the upper left hand corner. There was a white arrow pointing to it. Evidently someone has had the problem before. I bet that's my culprit

Trailer hitch...no running lights (2004)

You'll have to follow the BROWN wire from the factory connector(with the running lights on of course) to the trailer connector and make sure you are getting power all the way to the two lamp fixtures. If so you've probably got two burned out 1157 bulbs or an inline fuse in the factory harness/ trailer harness.Good Luck, Dana

Right side trailer brake light does not work

Did yo check the fuse panel inside the truck its located on the drivers side dash , you have to open the driver side door, in there is a 10 amp fuse that is linked to rt trailer brakes and rt turn signal for the trailer, if the fuse is good there is a black box under the dash located on the floor on the driver side, just to the left of the break, thats where must of the plug in wire harness is for the trailer breaks!

Trailer charging problem

Spray a little WD-40 on it or use electric grease and see if it helps. Some trucks used switched power and some used direct power. I wired mine directly and put a toggle switch under the dash. It is not uncommon to have voltage drop through a connection, but yours is above normal. Disconnect the batteries in the trailer and check voltage again. The batteries in the trailer might be drawing on the truck voltage. Also check the voltage on the truck side with everything hooked up and see if it drops also. Hope this helps, Mike
