Hi, there are baffles in the filler pipe designed to prevent siphoning. If you need to drain the tank, I would disconnect the filter and use the fuel pump to drain it.

Most cars are fitted with anti syphon devices to stop people from syphoning fuel out of the tank.

the easiest way to remove fuel from the tank is to remove the fuel gauge sender normally found on the top of the tank.

there will normally be an inspection cover directly above this, but without details of the make and model, i cannot be more specific with the location.

if you need more advice, feel free to ask again remembering to give the make and model of the vehicle.
hope this helps.

you can't syphon the gas out on these vehicles. They have a ball that is in the metal hose on the gas tank to keep any large object out of the tank. Your best bet would be to drop the tank, and take the fuel pump out and dump all the old fuel. Hope this helps, James Booth

Trying to syphon gas from a 2000 toyota camry and can't get the hose into the gas tank it hits something and won't go in far enough to get to the gas

There is a safety block in there that doesn't aloow them to be syphoned. Sorry to tell you. If you are needing to get the gas out then you will have to drop the tank. It sucks cause it is alot of work but that is the only way it can be done.

I have problems putting gas in my car. the pump shuts off liek its full even tho its nowhere close to being full

Your tanks has a built in wire filter just below the neck. This has two functions 1) it removes any dirt in the fuel 2) it stops anyone from putting a hose into your tank to syphon fuel out. When you fill the tank pull the nozzle out partially (not fully out of the tank neck) but enough to let the fast delivery go through the wire filter gauze.
Hope this helps.

How to extract gasoline from gas tank

The syphon method is by far the easiest and you should try a smaller stiff hose to get the job done. About the only other way is to find the fuel line that comes out of the fuel pump, disconnect it, attach a hose to it, which could be difficult and turn on the ignition and let the pump, do the work.
