Question about Dodge Grand Caravan

1 Answer

Question do u have any suggestions for replacing a motor mount on a 1997 dodge grand caravan SE 3.3L v6 we are trying to replace the motor mounts ourselves and have one that is not coming off but is unscrewed and sitting loose undernearth where the cage for the battery would normally sit in. When trying to remove the broken motor mount it feels like it is still attach to part of the frame work. How can we replace it with out dropping the engine or is it time to take in to mechanic?

There's a 15mm bolt that has to be taken out under the fender on the driver's side.

I have a 1997 dodge grand caravan with a 3.8L I replaced the radiator cooling fan relay switch and fuses but when idling for more than 5 mins. the van starts overheating

Water pump impeller could be bad or thermostat is stuck shut. I would change thermostat first, easy to change, cost under $10.00 Water pump is hard to change in this van, you have to remove right tire, then inside wheel well, then loosen 3 top motor mount bolts which will lower engine so you can get to water pump and tensioner.

My 1997 dodge grand caravanshokes really bad when

If it's related only to acceleration I would suspect a broken motor mount. The engine turns the wheels but there is an opposite reaction that tries to turn the engine over. It's held in place by rubber mounts that wear and can break. If the engine moves enough then the drive shafts are out of alignment and they can cause vibration. A bad CV joint can also cause this problem but usually causes different symptoms if you are turning right or left.

2001 Dodge Grand Caravan heater blower motor not working at all...worker off and on during a cold spell....now not at all ....dealer suggested replacing blower motor and resister...cost $1000....due to the...

The Blower Motor Resistor is located behind the glove box on the dash. Remove the whole glove box to access. The Resistor is mounted against/sort of into the fire wall.
1. Disconnect the negative side of battery.
2. Disconnected the Electrical Connection to the Resistor.
3. Remove the bolts/screws. I believe they have 8mm heads, there should be 2 of them.
4. Replace with new one/Replug electrical connection.
5. Reconnect the negative side last.
6. Test System before putting the glove box back in!
The Blower Motor is easy (compared to $1000) to remove and replace.

99 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.3L needing to replace the Idle Speed Motor on van. Where is it and how do you replace it?

Mounted on the throttle body with 2 Torx screws (I forget what size) and has a 4 way conncector if memory serves. Take the 2 screws out and it will come right out. Make sure the old o-ring comes off and the new one gets put in. Also clean out the throttle body with some intake cleaner while you have the IAC out.
