SOURCE: oil change procedure on a 2005 Hyundai elantra

it is very easy to change the oil put the car on ramps secure the back end look for the drain plug underneath the engine make sure you have the right size wrench and when you remove the plug also check the gasket on the plug to make sure it is not cracked you will also need an oil filter wrench and my other suggestion to you is to go to autozone to see if they have a Haynes repair manual for your car and if they don't see if they can order you one in the mean time they can also print you off a diagram of how to change the oil in you car safely

Can i change the pressure oil pump into the automatic transmision for a hyundai elantra 2003

the pump is deep inside the transmission just behind the torque converter, u must pull the trans out to replace it, at that point you might as well do the whole trans, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being most difficult, this is a 9.

Check engine light is on in my 2005 Elantra newly maintenanced

Check your engine oil and break oil weather it is in below low level or full, if it has in low level get an engine oil for your car module and pour it. otherwise go to authorized Hyundai service centre and check for it.

Maintenance schedule

If the water pump is driven by the timing belt replace it and anything else that is driven by the timing belt(idlers and tensioner) , Also replace the camshaft and crankshaft oil seals while your there.
Never hurts to flush the cooling system and add fresh coolant/anti-freeze.
Hope this helps
