Measure your oil pressure with an external gauge. If the pressure is okay, replace the sending unit, they are most common failure...
If the external gauge indicates not enough pressure, time for exploritory surgery.....

Oil pressure high, oil level low

Oil pressure and oil level are two different creatures.

your oil gauge determines oil pressure while the oil can (red light on dash) indicates oil levels.

There are usually two different sensors but can gauge the same types of things. E.G. - If your oil is so low that your pressure gauge is affected this can cause engine failure. Thus--a good rule of thumb is to check your oil once a week as the oil pressure gauge and red oil can may not always work as intended.

I hope this helps!

My oil light comes on when i stop and blinks when im driving why does it do that

This light has nothing to do with oil level, it's oil pressure that is low here and turniong on the light, If you do have low oil pressure in the engine you will shortly be needing a new engine, SO HAVE IT CHECKED RIGHT AWAY. It may be a faulty pressure sensor or other problem.

97 ford thunderbird 3.8 v6 has a very loud knock. any ideas?

First of all, stop driving it. Second of all, it may be that your oil pump may be going out, however unless you are a mechanic, I wouldn't go any further.

Oil light comes on and blinks then goes off . sometimes doesn't come on at all for a couple of days. It never comes on and stays constant red.

Have you checked your oil level? This light indicates either an oil level problem or an oil pressure problem.

Red light in dashbord blinks on/off look like a red hose with a drip.

That's the oil pressure light. Take it to an auto parts store like Napa or AutoZone, and ask the staff to scan your car (they'll do it for free). That will diagnose the specific problem. Odds are that you're a little low on oil.

Oil light blinks and oil is at the max in my 07 dogdge charger

oil light normally blinks for 2 reason. low oil pressure or low oil level. if the level is good and since its a 2007 i would hope that it was getting pressure. so its prolly the sensor. you can either remove the sensor and have someone check it. electrician hopefully. or you can just replace it
