Question about 2006 Audi A4

1 Answer

A4, 3.0 with CVT

No throttle response after coming to a stop, shut engine off - restart - still will not go. Sometimes will be O.K. after sitting for few minutes. Took to dealer, 3 - 4 times, they can't find problem, computer on board does not show hiccup. After leaving at dealer for 1 week while service tech drove it home (200 miles later) regional service advisor says "tighten the grounding cables". But after getting stuck with same problem at a intersection while it was raining, traded the car away.
Tried to tell Audi, it is a safety hazard and a accident waiting to happen, no response from Audi /dealer -

When you say "no throttle response," do you mean that the engine reacted to the throttle but the car wouldn't move?  If so, this is a fairly common issue with CVT cars....CVT is not quite ready for the road yet.

Stalls sometimes when stopped at lights engine misses at stop

Engine stalling and rough run issue at low speeds

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

Every time I open the door nad drive the car, then shut it off the alarm goes off and I can not find a way to shut it off. How do you do it? I also do not have the key fobs.

quickest way i know of here is providing its a factory immobilisor and not a boy racer add on then take the chip out of the key and tape it under the shroud next to the transponder ,This way the car thinks its got the key in and this will stop the alarm

This car won't start unless the gear is in the P position. Some times the sensor that tells the computer that the gear is in the P position doesn't make a good contact and the car won't start. Move the gear backwards and forwards until it makes a good contact and the car will start again.
