Question about BMW 5 Series
Not sure here as i cannot remember what is what after 30+years but quickest way is suction the pipe on the unit with mouth and hold tongue on teh eng to see if the unit is holding a vacumn ,from the sound of it ,it sounds like it working as the vacumn will advance the engine timing causing it to run faster ,now set timing with everything connected and set to around 6? on idle then rev angine and it should advance to around the 20? mark maybe a bit less as the engine is retarded to factory set up at 6? as its running on low grade fuel compared to the inherrent design but you have no alternative here as 98 octane fuel is no longer available as originally they were set to 12? if i remember rightly ,O TO YOUNG AGAIN WITH A MEMORY .try it check it out then any queiries do not hesitate to answer the post and i will help anyway i can
