Question about 2003 Chevrolet Impala

Air conditioning on a 2000 chevy impala

The problem with the air damper was already there before changing the resistor on the blower. I have already checked the vacuum lines and still have no luck changing it over from the floor to the dash. Do you think it could be in the selector switck? Thanks for any help and God bless.

My 2004 Chevy Impalas blower won't come on until 5 or 10 min. Show me how to change the blower, Please

It sounds like a loose connection. When it warms up, the heat causes expansion and allows the circuit to be completed. This could be at the resistor pack / speed control. In any case, you might want to read this discussion:

Good luck!

I have a 2000 Chevy Prizm and the air conditioning fan only works in the highest position. My guess is that one of the relays is bad. If that's correct, which relay is bad?

Sounds like a bad blower motor resistor. Since high speed bypasses the resistor and the lower speeds use the resistor and don't work, the resistor is the most logical answer. It is usually mounted near the blower motor under the passenger side of the dash.

My 2000 chevy impala heater fan control doesen't work at all. everthing works, except when you turn the control on any setting the blower motor won't come on/? no blowen fuse.

the resistor to the blower motor is bad or the motor itself, the resistor should be right next to the blower fan a heavy gauge wire plugs into it, or it might even just be the wire, it is common for them to melt

2000 chevy impala, air conditioning does not work

It sounds like the blower resistor needs to be replaced and the blower motor it self. Auto Zone will have the blower and resistor that you need to replace and will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools and will take about 2 hours if your good with tools. Good luck and keep me posted. Setting 5 should have 12 volts running to the blower motor so check the wire harness for voltage readings at the blower motor harness clip, you may only just need a new blower motor.

The blower motor resistor is located behind the glovebox mounted in the fan housing box under the dash.

If it will not switch to any different positions, and you did not have this problem prior to repair.Check for a leaking vacuum line to the control unit. The line should run through the firewall to the control unit.Good Luck!!!
