It is not the resistor that fails but the little thermal limiter next to the coils of wire that form the resistive element, it is round, looks like a little barrel.

Heater blower motor runs without the key on

Replace the relay or resistor first. Relays can stick closed, will cause a fast blower. Resistors can be fast to slower speeds. After that is burnt wires somewhere. Personally , I look at the wires first, Check them for ground shorts and impedance. Have an Ohm/volt meter?

Only hi speed on ac blower motor

This problem is caused by a burnt out Blower motor speed control resistor. The part is near the Blower motor and is held into the air duct by two small hex head screws. The part is chap and easy to replace.

The heater blower stopped working tested the resister and it has power, how can I get to the switch that controls the different speeds for the blower. I'm thinking that's the problem

the issue is in the resistor check the poer and ground at the blower motor its self it should have power in all speeds.even if the motors not running..if thers power at the motor give the motor a tap..or check the under hood fuse..its not a resistor its an actual blower module...and extreamly common also check the resistor wires and connector they are known to melt inside the connector...if ok relace the resistor....

My husband and i changed blower motor, relay. On our 81 corvette but still will not work help.

Thats because the older style GM blowers depended a lot on bushings for rotation, and as we all know bushings just cant outlast bearings. It looks like you'll need to replace that fan motor.

Fan works on high only

Check your blower motor fan speed control switch. They go bad frequently. You could have checked the resistor by jumping the wires to the different terminals to be sure the resistor was good. That pretty much just leaves you will the fan speed control switch. Good luck.

Putting in a new blower motor.

Hi, First remove the radiator overflow tank behind the right fender well, you may also have to loosen and place the a/c pump aside. Jack up the pass side of the car, with a combination of below and up inside the fender well , you can remove the blower motor fasteners, then replace the motor. Advance auto parts has this assembly available with the squirrel cage included. This is not an easy job but will be very rewarding.

1981 corvette blower motor getting no powere has power at fuse block but no where else blower motor runs with jumper wire

Check the blower speed control resistor pack, it is located in the air stream near the blower motor, that is most likely the cause of the inop blower, but be warned if the blower is drawing to much current due to wear the resistor will fail again, I believe the connector has four wires, 2 are heavy Gage
