Hose from the transmission that goes no where, I think something missing

I have a hose in the top of the trans it`s a vacuum hose aparrently and the problem that I have is that when I drop it ti any gear the engine accelerates by itself, since there is no conection that I know of from the throttle body to the trans my guess (which comes from your day to day and utterly ignorant person when it comes to mechanics) is that that hoes should be conected somewhere and prevent that accelaration to happen when any gear is droped in. Anyway I just ran my sight and hands all over my 1.6 dohc 5 gear trans fuel injected engine ando couldnĀ“t possibly find any empty slot/conection/pipeholder or whatever that damm hose goes into. I f anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

an educated guess would be an oil cooler. If you bought the vehicle second hand, the previous owner probably had a sump oil cooler fitted before the radiator to keep the engine cool when operating

I swapped the original 6 cylinder out of 1960 comet for a 1965 mustang 6 cylinder now the trans is not shifting did i miss something

Well you could have missed the vacuum line that goes to the modulator on the transmission. It has to get unrestricted manifold vacuum. Also, the throttle valve linkage from the carb to the transmission may be off or just missing a return spring. Give a good look around and I'm sure toy'ii find one of the two.

Just replaced a portion of transmission cooling lines on 94 bronco I bypassed leak but wonder if hose from top of radiator go to the top of tranny and so forth for bottom and truck seams to run correctly...

Why do you think the transmission cooling line is the cause of this problem. What testing have you done? Id the transmission fluid clean and the filter has been replaced each 60,000 miles? Do yiou think the transmission is slipping?

My 1987 deville has been missing the intake hose that brings fresh air into the air pump. the hose before the inline filter is the part i need but can't determine if anything else is missing as w

The A.I.R. (Air Injection Reaction) System was included on California-emission equipped vehicles. The system is designed to provide additional oxygen to continue the combustion process after the exhaust gases leave the combustion chamber. The system begins with the outside air inlet, which is a short, L-shaped open-ended rubber hose running from the lower front passenger fender well into the canister. The black plastic round canister is located in the front passenger-side engine compartment, adjacent to the EECS (Evaporative Emission Control System) canister, which looks similiar, but the EECS canister has electrical connectors on the top. While the charcoal canister of the EECS is a sealed unit, the A.I.R. canister has a twist-off lid to access the disposable filter. The inlet hose goes into the canister, air then passes through the charcoal filter, and travels into the outlet hose (also made of black rubber), which then connects directly to a metal tube coming up the front of the engine. Please contact me if you need a diagram or photos.

I have a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and it doesn't go past 1st gear. I don't think that the ****** is gone but there is a hose hanging down now and I am wondering it that is a vacuum hose that...

it may go to the modulator valve on the drivers side of the transmission,if so,,,jack the truck up,use jack stands,,reach up to the hose and connect it to a round shaped cylinder on the drivers side transmission. hard to explain but look at the transmission from underside, towards the front of transmission see a round cylinder with a vacum line missing, thats where the hose will go.then it will shift properly. thank you for choosing fixya.com

I think you mean the distributor ignition module
If you have an automatic transmission it probably
a vacuum advance valve/Sensor hose may be missing or
defective. You can probably find the manual at your local
library

Thinking this third hose is the actual vacuum hose that goes to the T near the vacuum reservoir located in the drivers side fender just below the antilock brake assembly. There is a one way valve in the line from the transmission to the T.

Where does the hose from the transmission go

look on the intake manifold for a place or on the side of the throttle body( where air goes in the motor)
