Question about Toyota Tercel

Open Question

I have a Toyota Belta of 2006. I don't know how to recline the rear seat due to the fact that no push leavers are visible. Thanks in advance. Stefan

I don't remember which knob adjusts that area for the seat but if it's like the one I used to own, much older model, it had a turn knob on the side of the back rest that you had to actually turn to get it to do that recline position. Look at your seat and see if it has a large knob on the side of the back rest and if it does, turn it until the seat reclines. I think it does. but not sure. if it doesn't then look on the side of the seat by the door for a lever there to see if that is the lever to make the seat recline. Vw has more than one knob most of the time. you can also check your owner's manual for seat adjusting and it should tell you something.

are there any other leavers or dials around the seat that you can see that may operate the back rest independantly?
can you see the motors are they intact?
is there a button that selecets the particular funtion you wish to do?
it is functional, can you test that?

the switch in the drivers seat is bad. very common. if you had access to some good jumper wires you could jump across the motor circuit and make the seat go up but you would have to be a good " doityourselfer" . that switch isn't hard to replace though. you will also need a new sunvisor. it should be held up with two screws that are hidden by a plastic trim piece.

My 06 malibu rear seat will not go down due to stuck switch

Push on the seat to the rear while pulling the cable release. Sounds like latch is adjusted too tight. If this works make adjustment before putting the seat back up. Open trunk & you should also be able to get to the speakers and the latch for the seat back. May require a screwdriver or something narrow & long to push on the latch arm while another person pushes & pulls the seat back to unlatch.

How to replace recline motor on driver seat for 2006 pacifica

If you pop the back panel off your seat on the bottom right hand side you will find the motor for the recline and it has one T30 bolt and a shaft going through the center witch if you remove the clip on the right side of the shaft it will slide out far enough to remove the motor.Follow the wire down to the bottom of the seat almost to the floor the plug is there. When putting in the new motor it is easiest to have some one help you by pushing the button back and forth to line up the shaft and bolt hole.hope this helps you out.

personally i would pull the seats and weld them into a position that is comfortable both sides of the seat should be welded. a small mig welder would take care of this issue nicely and permanently ! .. jay Florida

My passenger seat is pushed all the way up the motor is fine because the seat reclines fine is there a manual lever to slide the seat back on a 2006 kia optima exv6

Theres no lever if you have power seats then it uses motors to control it, there are a few motors one for foward and back and then on to recline the seat and then depending on the options on the the seat there may be another to go up and down, just because it reclines doesnt mean the other motor is good, you will need to check the switch and then make sure that the wiring is connected under the seat, try to unplug it and then plug the connectors back in and see if that helps, if there was a lever it would be located in the front off the seat near the floor area, good day.

Installation of rear facing car seat (not infant) in back seat of my toyota sequoia....the seat slants downward so the car seat sits to far upright even in the reclined position so when my son falls asleep...

Use "pool noodles" that you have pre- cut into lengths equal to the width of the base. Some experimenting will be needed; you may have to stack them like a pyramid, with more towards the back of the seat. Bath towels work as well but are more slippery on leather.
