First thing you will want to do is put make model and year of the vehicle your talking about. But an off the wall guess would be heater control switch.

Car overheating with vapor coming out from dash

watch temp gauge in dash and don't get it hot or you can ruin the engine. sounds like the heater core is still leaking. don't know your weather but usually you can bypass the heater core under the hood by unhooking the lines going into the dash from the engine and hook the two hoses together which will keep the car from overheating but you won't have inside heat. hoses go from engine to dash area and are a little smaller than a thumb

Hi i have a 2003 chrysler voyager 2.5,erm seems to be smoke coming from underneath car when turning engine off im thinkin its something to do with the rear heating system box and pipe under the car,lol im...

Hi Joanne, dont know a big pile about cars but I also have 2003 Voyager and I know that this is caused when your heater is up fully. There should also be a whining noise. There is some system in the Chrysler that uses diesel to assist your heater. This causes this series of events when you stop your car and is nothing to worry about. On the subject of heating, my heater is **** and doesnt seem to be enough to heat car. Hope this is helpful. C Burns

Ridiculous the heat doesnt work

First, check to make sure the coolant level is full...if not, it will bypass the heater core. Next, try replacing the thermostat and radiator cap. These are both inexpensive, and it's a good idea to replace them periodically. Finally, you may need to replace your heater core. Unless you are mechanically inclined, this is something best left to a mechanic. The difficulty of changing this ranges from vehicle to vehicle.

If its blowing cold then either the climate control unit is bad or the heater core is clogged. . These are a bear to diagnose because the climate control needs to be removed to test.
Feel the heater hoses that go into the firewall. They both should be the warm. If one is cold the heater core is clogged.
If one is warm and the heater seems to work better with cruising then maybe the water pump impellers are worn out. The blades can corrode away.

I can't get the hood of my 96 maixma open. The

Try this have someone assist you take and pull the hood latch and have someone tap the middle of the hood with there hand while you pull the latch all the way out and as they are tapping on the hood let go of the latch if it still doesnt open try this a few more times. If you get the hood open where the locking mechanism is under the hood spray a little WD-40 or PB blaster something like that to help it work better the next time.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee leaking liquid on front passenger floor

OK, you had a heaqter core leak (verified by disconnect & bypass) then you had a new one installed. Now you have a leak in the same place...Only two reasons it gets wet on the floor there. 1. heater core is leaking. 2. A/C drain is plugged. If the stuff on the floor is antifreeze it will have a slightly oily feel to it and you will be loosing coolant from the engine. If not, check the small hose stub that sticks out of the firewall on the passenger side about even with the botom of the heater box on the engine side of the firewall) If that's plugged, use your finger or something soft to clear it (no scredrivers etc or you can dmaage internal heater parts) Only other possibility would be that there is a windshield / body leak allowing rain etc to enter.
If it is the heater core, it may be defective, improperly installed & damaged, or there may be a screw somewhere that is causing a wear hole to form that went unnoticed, that may have caused both leaks. Doing the heater core is a time intensive job so I understand why the shop does not want to go there again but if it's leaking the have to do it!
Good luck with your car and post back if you need more help on this.
