Hello, Much of what you are going to need depends on who is going to fix your vehicle. You did not furnish any info about the Year or Model of the unit. I will give you a site for used parts and if you look at some of the columns, the parts may be graded for quality. A is the best, B is second best, and so on. The site is car-parts.com. You will be able to enter the Year and Model for your vehicle and shipping is available for the parts.

If you are going to have someone else do the repair, you want to discuss whether the repair shop will put in a part you bring in, or only install what they purchase for you. The shops usually want to make money off of the parts too. Call before you go, call around for cheaper rates.

The advice for your repair will also depend on if you intend to fix this yourself and what part you broke. Having front or rear wheel drive matters, and in general there are always adjustments to make and you need the tools and training to do it. Thats' why the Mechanics make the big bucks.

If you broke something that is newer, like 2008, 2009, 2010 Year series, then you may have a Warranty coverage claim. Ford and Mercury have 3 or 4 Years of Drivetrain Warranty and Lincoln has 4 Years. I hope you feel I have been very helpful in providing you some information. It is difficult to provide you the exact information you may need without knowing what you broke and what vehicle you are repairing. Good Luck with this.

Wipers will not turn off

the switch inside the motor casing is mangled.
fixed many ,too many.
if the combo switch is off, 0v, and it runs that means the motor switch is bad, fix it or get a new motor.
there are only 2 choices.

this switch inside is the keep alive switch, for wiper return
when it mangles, it keeps alive for ever.
if you think this i hard, try classic cars with vacuum wiper motors.
here is a very good drawing, of such a swith (not yours)
but shows how the cam works , clearly
i just rebuilt one last month. relic VW bug.

Timing marks toyota 4e-fe

The detail is as under:
A. With the lower timing case in place and upper half timing case removed.
1. With the engine switch OFF, and in neutral position, hand brake pulled, jack up the right front wheel. Turn the steering wheel fully right hand side. Rotate the engine crankshaft pulley with 19 mm deep socket clock wise and bring the engraved timing mark of the pulley in front of Zero (0) degree mark which is printed on the lower timing case.
2. The cam shaft timing gear has a small hole on one of its spokes.
It should be straight upward, at exactly 90 degrees to the cylinder head upper face. With the help of mirror carefully look through this hole, you will find a pin hole mark there. With the crankshaft pulley at 0 degrees, this hole in the camshaft gear should exactly align with the pin hole of the camshaft bracket number 1.

2002 Hundai Sonata V-6. What do the +/- next to the automatic shifter do? My daughter accidentally bumped the shifter into that area while driving at 55...horrible noise and burning smell...did she just...

That is the tiptronic shifter, it allows the driver to manually shift gears without the use of a clutch. She may have bumped it to s much lower gear but there should be no damage done from that. If the rpm is too high the car will override and shift up.

How do I change the transfer case fluid on za ford escape

Hi there,

CAUTION

New transfer case lubricant must be installed any time the transfer case has been submerged in water. Also, transfer case failure CAN result if the correct fill procedures are not followed.

NOTE: The transfer case is lubricated for life and is not to be checked unless a leak is suspected or a repair is necessary.
  1. Remove the drain plug and drain the transfer case.
  2. Apply sealant to the drain plug threads and install the plug.
  3. The fluid level must be even with the bottom of the filler hole with the vehicle on flat, level ground.
To Fill:
  1. Remove the fill plug and fill the transfer case with SAE 75W-140 synthetic gear lubricant.
  2. Apply sealant to the fill plug and install the plug.

Cheers,

Transmission Leak

You need your trans rebuilt or replaced. There is a clip inside that holds the gears from moving back and forth. This clip has broked and will need replacement. The casing will have to be repaired or replaced as well as the gear(s) that ground its way through the casing.

Where is the pcv valve?

SO I WENT TO THE DEALER WITH THAT SAME QUESTION AND AFTER RUNNING THE VIN # IT TURNS OUT THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE A PCV VALVE, WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT THE VALVE COVER HAS SOME TYPE OF MESH AND AFTER IT GOES BAD YOURE SUPPOSED TO CHANGE THE COVER ITSELF TO AVOID GETTIN OIL INTO YOUR INTAKE. OTHER THAN THAT IT SHOULD STILL BE GOOD.WHAT I DID IS LOOK FOR A PCV VALVE THAT FITS INTO THE HOLE AND REPLACE THE HOSE SO I WOULN'T HAVE TO BUY THE COVER
