It's what the steering column shaft is connected to, right after it comes out through the firewall. It's a big gearbox that the steering linkages are connected to, and it's bolted to the driver's side chassis.

The steering wheel lights are off a 2 amp fuse in the fuse box. Look in your manual to get the location. The gear selector lights are from the safety neutral switch/ range selector switch on the transmission.

You just located the steering gear! If you are lucky, it is a hose that is leaking - replace it. If unlucky (Given the vehicle age) it is the gear or rack and pinion itself. Where is the outer tie rod on left side located

It is connected to the left steering knuckle (behind the left front wheel). Very difficult to see without removing the wheel.

power steering located at the side of the engine, you will that it is connected with the e.belt... its dimension usually 12x8x19inches, it has a two hydrolic hose connected to the gear box.... or if you see first the gear box, just follow the hose it will lead you to the power steering unit...

may be the lines goin into the gear box. follow the steering shaft down to the gear box under the hood and locate the two lines on top and see if theyre rusted out and wet

Loud noise in the steering column;gear box replacd recently

Believe it or not there are some problems you should take to the dealer. It never was the gear box, its a defective steering column bushing. That problem had a factory notice and the dealer would have diagnosed it immediately an fixed it free parts +$40.install. Tahoes get that problem.
