The condenser in Honda's often become damage do to the placement and road debris flies into through the holes in the grill causing the damage. This is a design flaw of the Honda Accord. You will need an AC line tool to do this job as well. This is necessary to release the hose from the condenser.

  1. The first thing you need to do is have the AC system properly discharged (if there is anything left)
  2. You will need to jack the front end of the car up on the passenger side first (the condenser is more on the passenger side.)
  3. Make sure to jam a brick under each tire so the car does not roll on you and use a jack stand under th axle close to the passenger wheel in case the jack fails.
  4. There is a little plate under your car to prevent mud and debris from getting under the vehicle. Remove the screws holding this in place and remove the plate. You should now be able to look up in the and see your AC condenser.
  5. You need to remove the brackets anchoring the condenser.
  6. Make a mental not of how the condenser is set in there.
  7. Now take your AC line tool and put it around the hose and press firmly towards the condenser (you may have to work at it for a bit) until the hose frees up.
  8. Do the same to the other hose.
  9. Now take your new condenser, making sure to put the new little "o" rings on the posts coming off the condenser, push the hose on till you hear a "click.
  10. Now reverse the procedure to finish putting the new condenser in.
Now you need to go get your system charged. Do not attempt to do this with the little bottle of refrigerant from the auto parts store. You had your AC system wide open and it needs to be put under a vacuum for a few hours (this will also check for leaks) and then recharged immediately afterward.
Regards, Tony

Toyota Corolla 1995. Quality of air conditioner reduced when stopped (traffic light) or moving at slow speed (condenced city traffic) No problem on the highway. Checked freon gas and fan. Understand that...

Normal, the ac heat exchanger condenser need air moving across the fins to remove the heat. While moving in town the condenser isn't remove the meat that is building up the it's aluminum fins. Even though the vehicle uses an electric fan. The fan is used to cool the engine temperature. If you Toyota is equip-ed with automatic transmission. The electric fan will need to pull enough air to cool the engine temperature, automatic transmission fluid, air conditioner condenser, and maybe power steering condenser to cool the power steering fluid. Later model of vehicles/trucks are using different refrigerants instead R134A in which you Toyota uses.

The simples way to explain is the ac remove heat from inside your Toyota and this heat is removed by the refrigerants inside your ac in the car. To cool the refrigerant this coolant is removed to the heat exchanger condenser located in front of the engine radiator. So, while moving at 60mph there is enough air flow through the radiator, ac head condenser, and other aluminum heat exchangers. GB...stewbison

Air conditioner blows hot air

there can be a problem to air conditioner of the car . I guess you just have to go to the dealer or the toyota car shop for repair of the air conditioner . may be it's the fan of the air con that is not working properly. they can replace it .Because it is design to that car .

Air conditioning condencer needs replaced

Just found some information searching Google....Apparently the Accord condernsers are prone to damage from road debris. A few of the posts I found stated they paid $700-$800 for a repair.

Find a good mechanic (not a dealer, just ask around at work or ask your neighbord). Any reputable mechanic can replace it.
