yes you should see a small round canister with an electrical plug and a vacuum line on each side of it like a tee fitting follow the vacuum line to the big black charcoal canister box or go in the reverse from the charcoal canister backwards and you should find it the charcoal canister should be on the inside of the fender and you will find the purge valve LATER MAN!

The purge solenoid should be in the hard plastic vent lines that run under the tube between the intake and the air filter, ablove the transmission, it is common for vibration holes to be worn in the hard plastic tubes causing a vacuum leak. The purge solenoid is small and it has an electric wire coming from it. I 'think' your canister is in the front lower left corner under the hood, you may have to remove splash shields to see it. The problem is most likely in the hard plastic lines at the solenoid. Let me know if this helps.

The first thing is to check for a bad vacuum, under the hood. There is either a check valve,or a vacuum reservoir involved in this vacuum system.Look for a canister(could be round like a ball or look like a can or any shape)under hood, most likely hidden under a fender. If not found, look on passengers side of car, near the windshield next to fender and firewall. The check valve is a small plastic device, with a vacuum on each side of the check valve. It could be busted or the vacuum could be collapsed or have a pin hole in it.If you can not find any thing wrong, replace the vacuum lines that go to this system. If it still does not fix the problem, replace the vacuum control switch in the dash.It is located in the control selector. If I can help, let me know.>>

2005 f350. Heater works but can't get air to flow out of leg vents....even when specifying leg vents on instrument panel.

If air is coming thru defroster then you have a vacuum leak.Defrost is the default postion(no vacuum).Look under hood on the passenger side next to heater core area and see if you can find the small black vacuum line going thru the firewall.Trace it back to the vacuum canister on right side of engine or fender well and make sure nothing is disconnected or leaks in the line and trace it from canister back to the source also.

Air conditioner problems

You have a vacuum leak.Defrost is the default postion no vacuum.
Find the small black supply line under the hood on the passenger side where it goes thru the fire wall, trace it back you should see a plastic canister then from there it goes to a vacuum port on the intake.Should find a leak somewhere in this line.

97 mustang air conditioning

You have a vacuum leak, defrost is the default postion(no vacuum).Look under the hood on the passenger side at the firewall and find the small black vacuum line that goes inside the car.Trace this line back, you will find it goes to a black canister(which is the reserve supply) then it will leave this and go to a vacuum port on the intake manifold. You will most likely find a leak somewhere in theis line.

I have a 99 jeep cherokee no hot air?

Does the air come out from the defroster? If you hear the blower motor and don't get any air from the panel, the car may have a vacuum line either off or broken under the hood. Check under the hood by the pass. side firewall and see if the vacuum line going through the firewall is off. Listen for a hissing sound around the area when the engine is running. There is a vacuum canister in the front bumper on the right side, it could be cracked.
