Question about Dodge Durango

Open Question

My 1999 dodge durango has a hesitation when acceleratig at about 20mph. This never happens when the car has been sitting all night but if I drive it 10 minutes stop, and start it back up it will hesitate it acts as if there is no throttle pedal at about 20 mph. There is no check engine light and it has been checked on the computer. Also if I punch the gas it clears up and doesn't happen again until the next time I shut the car off.

SOURCE: Engine cuts off in traffic when car slows.

Sounds like it could be an ignition module breaking down.

SOURCE: 2003 2.5L nissan altima hesitation/check engine light is on

you might want to take the car in to the dealer there was a lot of recalls on that car i know i have one and i just took it in they did a recall on the computer and the catyltic converter the cat shoots pieces of the cat called catalyss into the pistons and blows the motor it only cost a 125 dollars for the dealer to check it and if it is a recall you get that money back!!!

SOURCE: hesitation at 40mph and 50 mph.

A pop and hesitation is likely a backfire. The hesitation around 40 and 50 would be in keeping with that theory. There are several reasons you might be getting backfires and hesitation. If your ECM is adjusting the engine to run too rich this could happen. Misfiring might be occuring. Timing could be out. But one of the most likely is a restricted exhaust, likely due to a plugged, damaged or worn out catalytic converter. In some cases the converter may be bad enough to be giving you some performance problems, but not yet quite bad enough to signal an error. A vacuum test can help confirm whether this is exhaust related.

Dodge durango bucking hesitating while driveing

Start simple and check yourfuel relays and fuses! Next vacumes and air filter! Then spark plug wires&plugs and as I was told grounds on both starter and altenator. if that doesnt help check fuel filter and regulator then make sure the line isnt pinched! that was my last problem and didnt find out till i dropped the fuel tank!
