I have a 2004 rx8 when you start it it runs great until it warms up & goes into limp mode. Turn it off & back on most of the time its fine for about a mile then back into limp mode. Please HELP

first option is to have the fault codes read
limp mode is activated by both the engine and transmission sensors
going to limp mode so quick could be an overheating problem , transmission vss/tcm problem or ECM fault
by reading the fault codes , you will get a better idea of the problem

Car gone in to limp mode had to break hard because of accident to miss car in front is this what can happen when breaking hard

if the sump oil level was low to start with , the hard braking may have caused the oil pump to pump air momentarily and the oil pressure sensor would report and the ECM would place it in limp mode
limp modes are energized by both the engine and the transmission and the transmission TCM unit may have had difficulty in shifting ratios and sio reported it as a fault
run the fault codes and fix what is found or reset the ECM using a scan tool

95 Nissan Maxima transmission code p 07340 p 11005 transmission is in limp mode have erased several times

what have you done to repair the fault that shows the codes?
from your statement you are removing the codes and resetting the ECM but the codes come back and the vehicle goes back into limp mode
one of the codes (p 0734 --0?) refers to gear 4--incorrect ratio===causes --wiring---TR sensor /switch ---shift solenoids---transmission mechanical fault
If that fault area is not fixed then the TCM doesn't know what gear to select so it goes to limp mode

My 97 stratus keeps jumping into limp mode, i repaced sullenoid pack and two sensors, still in limp mode...anyone know why> should i have the computer flashed?

you should be having the fault codes read to find the fault
Limp mode is energized when some major problem with the engine or transmission is found by the ECM and it shuts down to prevent real damage
fix the fault or it will cost you big money

WHY DID THE CAR GO INTO LIMP MODE. WHAT IS THE POSSIBLE CODES AND REASONS FOR LIMP MODE AND HOW DO WE RESOLVE IT

Most limp modes are caused by transmission faults but can be caused by engine sensors and blown fuses. If your car is in limp mode the fault will be stored in the ECM.
You need to read the fault codes stored in your ECM to know which sensor has caused this problem. You didn't say what model vehicle you have and it would take a number of hours to list all the possible codes and reasons.
Get someone with a code reader for your model vehicle.

Astra goes limp mode once service lifght comes on

this is normal practice to protect the engine /transmission from costly repairs. Run the fault codes to find which sensor is activated. Check all fluid levels (coolant at the radiator cap). Fix the fault and use a scanner to reset the light.

I have a Mercedes S class diesel saloon built in 2007 and the car has developed a fault wherby the engine management comes on (but not always). When it comes on it sometimes goes into limp mode and...

engine manage lights and limp mode are activated from the engine AND the transmission faults
may be the mechanic is looking in the wrong area for the fault as it could be a TCM or wiring problem in the transmission
discuss it with MB headquarters technicians as the local shop may not have the experience to fix problems
