The oil pressure swicth or oil sending unit is on the bottom of the motor near the oil pan. It will have a wire attached to the end of it. It easily screws out to replace with a new one.

How do I Know If The oil pressure switch is leaking oil with out removing the Intake manifold on a 2010 Hyunda Santa Fe 3.5L?

  1. locate the oil pressure switch: The oil pressure switch is usually located near the oil filter or on the engine block, close to the oil pressure gauge sender.
  2. Check for oil leaks: Look for any visible oil leaks around the oil pressure switch and its connecting hose. If you see any oil leaks, it could indicate a faulty oil pressure switch.
  3. Check the oil level: Check the oil level in the engine and look for any signs of a decrease in oil level, which could be a sign of an oil leak.
  4. Listen for any unusual noises: If you hear any unusual noises coming from the engine, such as a hissing or whistling sound, it could indicate a leak in the oil pressure switch.
  5. Monitor the oil pressure gauge: If the oil pressure gauge is reading low or fluctuating, it could also indicate a problem with the oil pressure switch.
If you suspect that the oil pressure switch is leaking oil, it is best to have the vehicle inspected by a certified mechanic or a Hyundai dealership

Oil pressure switch location on isuzu dmax 2005 3.0 l

The oil pressure switch on a 2005 Isuzu Dmax with a 3.0L engine is located on the engine block, near the oil filter. Here are some steps to locate the oil pressure switch:
  1. Locate the oil filter on the engine block. The oil pressure switch is typically located close to the oil filter.
  2. Look for a small electrical connector attached to a sensor located on the engine block. The oil pressure switch will have an electrical connector attached to it, which distinguishes it from other sensors located in the same area.
  3. Follow the wire from the electrical connector to the oil pressure switch. The oil pressure switch will have a wire leading from the electrical connector to the switch itself.
Once you have located the oil pressure switch, you can replace it if it is faulty or damaged. It is important to ensure that the engine is not running and that the oil has cooled down before attempting to replace the switch to avoid injury. Additionally, make sure to disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical shocks.

I believe that is the. Oil pressure switch code. Majority of the time it is the oil pressure switch going bad. If you have the v6 3.1 or 3.4 it is located on the front of the engine right above the starter.

My oil light comes on after higher speeds while idling at a traffic light.

It may be your oil pressure transmitter switch at fault. There's many different oil pressure transmitter switches. Here are some generic images:
oil pressure transmitter switch Google Search
It could also be that your vehicle is due an oil/filter change.
Is your oil level ok?

It's unlikely to be your oil pump at fault.
  1. Check your oil level
  2. Is the vehicle due an oil/filter change?
The oil pressure transmitter switch simply tells the engine 'low oil pressure'. This usually happens at idling speed due to a faulty transmitter switch, low oil level or there's a need for an oil change as the old oil is no longer up to the job. Oil pressure switches are easily changed.

The important thing is that you aren't getting a warning light when driving at speed. If your oil level is okay and it isn't due an oil/filter change - it probably is the oil pressure switch at fault.

For your own peace of mind try adding an oil additive.

2003 Lexus ES300. The oil pressure light is on but oil level is OK.

Redi Hoxha

The oil light only detects loss of pressure not oil level. Your oil pressure sensor or switch monitors oil pressure in your engine. It sends these signals to the ECU and to your oil pressure gauge or warning light. Swap out the oil pressure switch.

As an aside, I worked in a place with artwork from a very accomplished Toronto artist who signed his artwork just 'HOXHA'.

The low oil pressure warning lamp will illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position without the engine running. The lamp also illuminates if the engine oil pressure drops below a safe oil pressure level. To test the system, perform the following:

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. If the lamp does not light, check for a broken or disconnected wire around the engine and oil pressure sending unit switch.
  3. If the wire at the connector checks out OK, pull the connector loose from the switch and, with a jumper wire, ground the connector to the engine.
  4. With the ignition switch turned to the ON position, check the warning lamp. If the lamp still fails to light, check for a burned out lamp or disconnected socket in the instrument cluster.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
On the 2.4L engine, the oil pressure switch is located on the side of the engine block facing the firewall. On the 3.0L engine, the oil pressure switch is located on the oil filter adapter housing, next to the starter motor. On the 3.3L and 3.8L engines, the oil pressure switch is located next to the oil filter.
  1. Locate the oil pressure sending unit on the engine.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Disconnect the pressure switch electrical harness.
  4. Using a pressure switch socket, deep-well socket or wrench, loosen and remove the pressure switch from the engine.
To install:
  1. Install the pressure switch into the engine and tighten securely.
  2. Attach the electrical connector to the switch.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable.
  4. Start the engine, allow it to reach operating temperature and check for leaks.
  5. Check for proper oil pressure switch operation.

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answerr).

Oil pressure switch location on 1999 chev cavalier

The oil pressure switch relays the oil pressure in the engine to the instrument cluster. The switch will illuminate the OIL PRESSURE light if the oil pressure drops below 2psi (13 pa). The switch is usually located on the side of the engine, under the intake manifold on the 2.2L engine and on the side of the intake camshaft housing on the 2.3L/2.4L engine.

Other, the low oil level switch activates the OIL light in the instrument cluster when the oil level in the pan goes below a certain level. The switch is mounted on the oil pan.

I have a Honda 2004 CRV - the repair ( OBD II) code is P2647 - what does that mean?

P2647 VTEC Oil Pressure Switch Circuit High Voltage - With Automatic Transmission Basicallly the sensor has gone bad or an oil passage has become blocked.

**. Locate the Variable Timing Electronic Control (VTEC) pressure switch on the end of the cylinder head. Honda has had problems with the VTEC oil pressure switch, there is an updated part number for the vehicle (37250-PNE-G01). On this vehicle the VTEC oil pressure switch can fail at any RPM.
2. The VTEC oil switch is normally closed, and grounds the reference voltage from the Engine Control Module (ECM) on the Blue/Black (BLU/BLK) wire. If the code sets at idle - 2500 RPM - and the Brown/Yellow wire has a good ground, then suspect a faulty VTEC oil pressure switch.
3. At approximately 2500-4000 RPM and when driving the vehicle, the VTEC system should turn on. To turn on the system, the ECM energizes the VTEC Solenoid valve and it allows oil pressure into the intake valve rocker arms, the oil pressure opens the VTEC oil pressure switch so the Engine Control Module (ECM) can verify that the VTEC did turn on correctly.
4. The code will set at idle to 2500 RPM if the reference voltage is not grounded. The code will set above 2500-4000 RPM if the VTEC oil switch does not open.
5. If the code sets at 2500-4000 RPM or higher, the problem can be a low oil level or pressure, or a malfunction in the VTEC assembly.
Potential Causes: Low Engine Oil
Plugged Oil Passage
Insufficient Oil Pressure
Plugged Oil Screen
Insufficient Oil Volume
Malfunctioning VTEC Oil Pressure Switch
Defective VTEC Solenoid
