Question about 2006 Honda Accord

1 Answer

I have a 2006 Honda Accord 4cyl SE model, the back light in the radio keeps going out. Also the auto airbag shutoff is not functioning and now the radio seems to be shorting out sometimes it just goes quiet and sometimes the speakers screech loudly.

I dont know if you got my solution for this earlier.....my computer had a malfunction and the page vanished...So here it is again..You need to take the car to a dealer and have the ECM (Electronic Control Module ) Flashed...This is what it is called to update the system.
The problem could lie in the CCM (Cabin Control Module) but the Flash procedure will normally solve the problem because all it does is reprogram the system.
Unless you have spilled coffee down in it or just careless operation like mashing different buttons at the same time....This will definitely cause a problem that will short the system out .
It is tied in with the air bag because it is from the ECM also....
Be sure you have checked fuses because when the radio starts going on and off it can sometimes blow a fuse or relay that may not be related to it...also the air bag relay for good measure I have seen the same problem with a few cars and all were a different make. The only way to fix them was to update the system. If it has a lot of miles on it There is also a chance of a loose connection but normally it needs to be updated......Hope this helps........................Metalpoet

MY 2006 HONDA ACCORD KEEPS BLOWING THE RADIO FUSE

There's either a short in your radio or something is grounding out the circuit. To narrow down the problem, remove the radio and disconnect the plugs in the back of it. If the fuse blows while it's unplugged, you have a short somewhere else in the wiring. If it doesn't blow the fuse, your radio is the problem.

Replaced battery in 2006 accord se, got the code, how do i rest the radio?

turn the radio on. You should see the word "code". type in the code on the numbered station selector buttons. You should hear a long beep when the code is accepted and the radio should work although it will not have the preset stations in memory like it did before it lost power.

1997 honda accord se need to change vss, where

For 1997 Honda Accord 2.2L MFI 4cyl the Vehicle Speed Sensor - Location is located mounted on transmission.

OPERATION
The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is a magnetic pick-up sensor that sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the speedometer. The sensor measures the rotation of the output shaft on the transaxle and sends an AC voltage signal to the PCM that determines the corresponding vehicle speed.

TESTING
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disengage the wiring harness connector from the VSS.
  3. Using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM), measure the resistance (ohmmeter function) between the sensor terminals. If the resistance is 190-250 ohms, the sensor is okay.
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the three terminal connector from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).
  3. Remove the fasteners that secure the VSS to the transaxle housing assembly.
  4. Remove the VSS.
To install:
  1. Install the VSS.
  2. Install the mounting bolts.
  3. Connect the three terminal connector to the sensor.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
Hope helps (remember rated this).

Is there a code needed for the radio when you replace your battery in a 2006 honda accord SE?

yes there is, that code should have been supplied with the owners manual, it is unique to each radio and car serial number, u will need to see the dealer about getting that number from GM

Cant find radio fuse

I'm sorry if this sounds a little too vague, but when the exact same thing happened to our Accord, my husband handled it and I wasn't really involved. Someplace you should have a card (It's either in with your papers if you bought the car new or if you bought it used, hopefully the last owners left in the glovebox or ? .) that has a 'security code' on it for 'resetting' the radio, etc. (There's some sort of an auto-shut-off in case someone is trying to steal your radio, etc..). When you follow the directions on the card and punch-in the numbers, it automatically resets and the radio and lighter* come back on (*BTW, I'm not sure if our lighter ever went out...??). If you can't find the card, then you'll have to go into a Honda dealership (They will NOT give out the # over the phone!) and by using your VIN they can look-up your #, although I don't know if they charge for this service or not. Hope this is of some help to you! BEST OF LUCK!
