What does the serpentine belt of a 1996 Chevy 454 diagram look like with ac and no smog pump

It's the same only shorter. Auto parts stores will be able to give you the right belt when you tell them about A/C without smog pump. The belt wrap diagram is on a sticker under the hood.

V-belt routing for a Chev 454 (7.5l) engine

This is the routing diagram for a 454 engine using v-belts only, not a serpentine belt.
The following abbreviations are used :
  • C - Crankshaft
  • S - Smog pump (A.I.R.) system
  • W/P - Water Pump
  • Alt - Alternator / Generator
  • A/C - Airconditioner
  • P/S - Power steering(In some installations also includes the brake booster pump)
This particular setup is most prevalent in motorhomes. Refer to the diagram.
Diagram 1 is for the first groove on the crank(closest to the block), and utilizes the 1st groove on the power steering.(belt no : 15415)
Diagram 2 is for the 2nd crank groove and utilises the 1st groove on the water pump pulley, the A/C pulley and the 2nd groove on the P/S pulley.(belt no 15590)
Diagram 3 is for the 3rd groove on the crank

If your motorhome uses a serpentine belt it replaces the belt in track number 3. (serpentine belt no : 6K560)
The upper smog pump(not shown in diagrams) is powered from the powersteering (Hydraboost) pulley (V-belt no : 15450)

Getting a code for smog pump

better check that info again. inspect belt routing diagram and vacuum diagram for thermactor pump and thermactor air system parts being present on your calibration. to my recollection there was no thermactor air used. where would they put all that plumbing?
pump, diverter valve, exhaust check valves, upstream and downstream air tubes? a ford has a label on the radiator support depicting the usage, hose color, and general vicinity in a schematic for ford technicians to identify. there is also a belt routing diagram that depicts the pulleys for the components. you dont have one...right?
you may have a code glossary for older vehicles. get the right manual at the library for free and restart diagnosis. or goto the emissions authorized repair facility and get the question answered after a quick self test

Need to rethread a serpentine belt on a 1994 f150 ford pickup truck Iand I need to see a diagram picture of how to do it. with by passing the the smog pump

Hi Antiagordon4,
Here are two diagrams of belts. I don't know what engine size you have but these are for the V-8s. The tensioners are spring loaded and will take a 3/8" drive wrench or belt tool to unload. As far as removing the smog pump, that's going to be trial and error on your end. You will need to measure the length for the belt less the pump. If you use a string to route like the belt and then lay it out flat.Use a tape measure to determine the length. You will need to subtract 1/2" or so for the tensioner.Take that information and the number of ribs to the parts house and they should be able to find a belt to fit.I hope this helps. If you need anything else, let me know.Chuckd956dcb.gif6d741b1.gif

1994 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition - a pully flew off (literally!), and I can't tell if it's the water pump or some other part - it's directly below the alternator. I need to know what that accessory...

I would bet it is the belt tensioner or belt idler, but can not be sure as I can not look it. At one time there were belt routing diagrams on a sticker under the hood, but I do not know if your Explorer was one of those. If I find a link to the belt routing I will post it for you.

I need routing diagram to install alternator belt on 89 dodge shadow

I've been looking and I can't find a pic of the actual diagram. However, here's how it routes. I goes around the alternator, to the water pump, then to the crank pulley in between the power steering v-belt and the A/C v-belt. Here's a good view of the belts.
