Trying to change tire. Took off lug nuts, but tire will not budge. Is there a locking mechanism?

Aluminum rim is corroded to the hub.Put one nut on loosely and hit back of tire with a hammer and it will usually come loose. I normally give tire several kicks at top and bottom to loosen.

Is there a special way to take the tires of a 2005 chrysler 300 touring all 6 lug nuts are off but tire still wont come off not even budge

we see this a lot. you need to get under the car and hit the back of the wheel to get them off this happens because of the oxidation between the aluminum wheel and the steel hub. if you can find one use a big rubber mallet.

Lug nuts on right rear tire won't loosen! Turning counter-clockwise, won't budge.

pur a long bar on the end of the socket say about 3ft long as the nuts have been done up with a wrench gun ,max torque for a wheel nut is 40lbs and yours are about 120 i reckon

Cannot get front tire off 2005 Hyundai sonata. 4 lugnuts are off but time still wont budge

Try tapping on the inside of the wheel they tend seeze up. If you have a rubber mallet use it so you dont bend the rim.

How do I remove the front rotors from a 2006 Hyundai Sonata?

place the car on a jack or lift and raise the car so the tire is several inches off the ground, remove the tire by removing the lug nuts, once off you must undo the brake bleeder, it looks like a small nozzle on top to the calipers, then insert a screw driver or something of the like between the brake piston and rotor and push the piston back, once that is done undo the two screws one on top of the caliper and one at the bottom, once done remove the caliper but be careful not to pull the tube of the caliper to far. then you should be able to pull the rotor off, if it wont come off take a rubber mallet and tap the back of the rotor, the rotor should come off without too much issue

Tire troubl 95 geo prizm

what happens is there is corosion that is holding the rim to the hub with the lug nuts off you need to break the corosion by giving the tire a hard donkey kick. if that doesnt work take a large hammer and beat on the outter rim to break it loose.
good luck

Changing flat tire, lugs off, tire wont budge

Wheel is stuck in place, gently tap on inside of rim with hammer or better a rubber mallet. May take some time but should jar it loose.

Wheel removal

loosen the lug nuts and drive it in a circle slowly until the wheel loosens (one at a time). only loosen the nuts about 2 turns-no more. i had to do this at the dealer for years. put that axle nut back on before driving the truck.
good luck
