2003 ford ranger need timingmarks my beltbroke

I've never done one on a Ranger, but most timing gears have alignment marks that you line up before you install the belt. Don't forget to replace the belt tensioner while you're at it.

What could cause an altenator not to get power

Alternators give charge not get a charge. Check that you have connected up the wires to the alternator correctly. Check drive belt for tension and condition. If it still will not charge have a qualified auto electrician check it over.

I just changed the alt in 2003 escape bat light came back on after about a day and half

When you replaced the altenator did the belt tensioner move freely, did it have a lot of torque, did it go back by itself? If it doesn't keep enough tension this will cause the light to come on. Not spinning the altenator fast enough. Some times this will cause the belt to squeal, some times not.

Need to replace altenator on 2003 ford ranger

1) disconnect the battery 2) take a wrench and loosen the bolt on the tension pulley which is a small pulley just below the alternator (this will make the serpentine belt loose enough to take the belt off the alternator pulley) 3) You can remove the belt if you want, but it is not necessary, unbolt the bolts from the alternator 4) disconnect the wire from the alternator 5) to install simply follow reverse order. the whole procedure should only take 20-30 minutes.

Need to know how to put a serpentine belt on a 1995 302 ford motor

Below the altenator is a tensioning pully, insert a 3/8" ratchet or breaker bar in the square hole on the tensioner and release the tension on the surpentine belt and remove the belt. Route the new surpentine belt in place up to the altenator and take the tension off the tensioner and put the belt over the altenator pully. Double check to make sure the belt is riding correctly on all the pullies before starting. Crank the engine over several times before starting to seat the belt. f78f558.jpg

Does a 2003 ford ranger 2.3 liter have a chain, gear, or timing belt?

The 2.3 uses a timing belt with an tension idler adjustment. Replacement is straight forward, just make sure to mark upper and lower cog pulleys before removing the old belt so that you can keep the timing in sync.

Lossen the fan belt on 2002 ford ranger. 3.0 liter

This is a difficult problem for an English-speaking person (me) - but I will guess at what you are saying is wrong with your Ranger......

You have a loose fan belt.
I believe that the belt is Surpentine - and, therefor has a belt tensioner. A loose belt normally exists if the tensioner spring is weak. Other possibility is that the belt has stretched beyond the ability of the tensioner to keep it tight.

Either replace the belt (about 30 dollars, US) or replace the tensioner. (Your 2002 probably has enough miles on it to justify replacing the belt anyway!!)

Altenator tension arm has no spring causes belt sqeal and engine to die to cahnge tension arm

Your truck has one belt and one idler pulley. To tighten it you will need a large bar (a breaker bar, crowbar or large screwdriver will work) Loosen the idler pulley bolt (not all the way) just enough to break it loose then use the bar against the pulley to tension the belt. If there are parts missing from the idler pulley, a new one must be purchased.
