This is caused by one of two things, the transmission vent hole is blocked on the top of the transmission case, or the Torque Converter is defective causing excessive friction heat build up, that would overheat the fluid and cause it to blow out the dipstick tube, does the fluid fell really hot? Also make sure you are not overfilling the transmission, remember fluid levels are checked with a hop transmission only! do not overfill?

There is one other possible cause I failed to remember, a faulty hydraulic pressure pump seal, which may be the culprit in your case if the fluid blows cold.

I just bought a 1990 bronco the tranny was rebuilt 3 years ago I have no 1st gear and when I start off in drive it acts like it is low on fluid but takes off fine in 2nd gear

Is it low on fluid?

All you can do short of taking it apart,
is remove the valve body & clean it

If it has overheated then you have internal
problems or sticking servos & such from the heat

Tranny wont stay in 3rd $& 4 th gears

not knowing the model and year it is hard to know what trans you have. GM has TSB Technical Service Bulletin for this issue. If you had a repitable shop rebuild it this should be under warranty. Also should have a check engine light on you can have the code pulled and Google the code that may help also. Hope this helps.

2003 dodge neon transmission issues

Well no metal shavings should be in the filter if there is there is,something is not right internally in your transmission. When there is larger metal shavings in your tranny filter your tranny is probabley gonna have to be rebuilt or replaced. You can try changing the fluid and filter and see if that helps but nore than likely you will need to change out tranny with a new or rebuilt one.

Tranny shudder low speed 35-45 mph

The shifting sequence releases one clutch as it engages the other, so it may be one or the other out of timing, so there is a partial engagement or disengagement. Does the tranny oil, on the dipstick smell burned, or feel significantly different than fresh fluid? How many miles on the fluid? What model 95 Dodge? Has the tranny been rebuilt some time in the near past? (I ask that because, years ago I had a BMW tranny rebuilt by a very good shop ans noted on the work order that it had to be built and filled only with type F fluid. When I picked up and road tested the car, the tranny made an groaning noise on the up-shift. I took the dar back to the shop and asked what fluid it was filled with. They said Dexron II. I pointed out the work order and my telling them to only use type F, . They changed the fluid and refilled with type F, which was a waste because the clutch plates were contaminated with Dexron, so they decided to rebuild the trans mission,l They did, and filled it with type F and it was just as bad, so they claimed there was probably a problem in the valve body. I asked them what fluid they soaked the new plates in before assembly, It was Dexron, so they rebuilt it again using tyoe F for the pre soak of plates and bands, The tranny worked perfectly.
For a Chrysler product, I would only use Mopar brand fluid, even if the manual said there was an acceptable substitute. This is also true for the brake fluid and coolant, as the cost of a mistake can be huge. Remember, whoever changes the fluid is married to any problems that show up. I owned a six bay repair shop with a full machine shop for ten years before retiring. We did not do transmissions, it was legally safer to have them done by a reputable transmission shop or the dealer, bringing them the vehicle.

2002 T-fird fluids leaking

Not really sure what your asking. But if your leaking from the power steering unit but it looks like tranny fluid it's because it is tranny fluid. Power steer fluid and tranny fluid are the same except that tranny fluid has a red dye in it.

Powerglide tranny rebuilt bines motor and only has reverse

Sounds like the trany shop didn't rebuild the transmission like they were. Take the truck back to the shop and have them rebuild it at their cost, if they did it not to long ago.

Hi, A 94 t-bird with only 92 K , the notorious tranny shudder and falling into neutral symptons.

I had one of these cars and loved it - this is happening around 45 - 55 mph trying to go into overdrive, you have to change the fluid and filter, those tranny's MUST have their flud changed every 9-12000 miles, make sure you drain the torque converter as well when changing the fluid, the gasket on the pan is reuseable - replace the fluid with this mix - half B&M trick shift which helps preserve the bands and clutches and what not - the rest just use a good brand of DEX MERC, happy motoring
