Have a very slow power steering fluid leak. thoughts as to where it could it be leaking from?

The top of your power steering pump where the steering arm via ujoint is a seal, otherwise known as the power steering top seal is most likely seeping out, see if you can wipe it really good and trying driving it some, and then wipe it again, if fluid on top in, seal needs replacing, also check housenthatngo down to your steering area for leaks. Let me know, thanks Mike

Whining noise from power steering pump on 2004 aviator

Immediately check fluid level. If level is low, fill to fill lines. If not low, your P/S pump is going bad and you should look to replace it before it seizes and causes the belt to break and potentially leave you stranded some where...

I have a 2003 Ford Escape that is leaking power steering fluid. I replaced the power steering pump and hoses but it is still leaking. It only leaks when the Escape is turned off.

It might be the rack and pinion kit (seals)

I had this problem 2 months ago... replaced the powersteering pump 3 times until I convinced the mechanics to look at the rack and pinion. there they found the leak, especially when I turned the wheel.. They first kept telling me there was air in the lines and it would go away. but that never happened.

Very hard to steer, had the power steering pump replaced, worked fine the night it was replaced, on my way to work the next morning, it started having problems steering again. Please help!

Check the fluid level and add if it's low on fluid, look for visible leaks that will need to be addressed. The only other thing to that may have gone bad is the power steering rack and will need to be replaced. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know your got your car running 100% again soon.

1996 Ford Taurus just developed a power steering pump noise.

Make sure it is full of power steering fluid. Fords use generic power steering fluid you can buy at any parts store.Or you can try a power steering additive like Lucus and it may help as a last resort to replacing the pump .

Power Steering system leaking

Have you checked the rack and pinion, if this is leaking you should she fluid on the bellows boot on either side. The seals in the rack start to leak and it will usually show at the black boots (bellows boots) at the inner tie rods. Hope this helps.

You might also want to take a look at the fittings going into the rack and pinion and make sure they are not leaking.
