Advice to any one with trans fluid questions with volkswagens due not try to fill your
self these transmissions take many different types of fluid and also even if u see
diagrams like the one at the top of this page u have to fill the transmissions by temperature using a scan tool and having the right tool to fill the transmissions these
parts are very expensive ask a tech that truely knows these cars.

On the manual transmission you go through the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). Its suppose to go 1/2 way up the teeth marks. Does it not say in the Chiltons manual? I can check when I get home.
