Diesel isn't it, first thing to check is the glow plugs, one bad one will cause a no start, check them with a dvom, and check voltage going to each, other than that check pressure from the fule pump to injector pump

Hi, I'm a retired ford tech, and one thing you learn is more often than not your issue is caused by a bad wire or plug. If you have a meter, check your wires one by one. Also make sure you don't have any pins bent in the plugs. One last thing, you mite have to be reset via the dealer, a lot of resets have to be done with there equipment.

I was doing about 55 mph when my truck stopped. it starts rite back up, but won' stay running unless you are pressing the gas as soon as you let off it dies out but will start rite back up

This is probably your cam sensor on the front passenger side of the engine on the front of the crank shaft get the part from the nearest dealer cost is under $40.00. It takes about 10 minutes. The timing pointer is part of the hold down for the sensor. Unplug the old sensor and undue the hold down bolt, twist back and forth as you pull it out. Reverse procedure to install new sensor.

Where and how do you put a cam sensor on a Ford f350 powerstroke diesel motor?

Camshaft Position Sensor located above front crankshaft pulley. Use 10mm socket on 1/4" drive ratchet. Crawl under front of vehicle, disconnect electrical lead, remove bolt, clean timing chain cover area, install new CPS. About $27 at Ford dealer. On some years this is covered under a recent RECALL by Ford...after years of litigation.

F350 super duty, engine cuts out without warning

Check to see if your truck was recalled for a faulty cam shaft sensor. Some sensors develop hair line cracks which allow contaminants to get in and the sensor becomes intermittent. The symptoms can include sudden shutdown of the engine so a recall was issued.
