SOURCE: LEFT TRAILER TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT WORK

I'd get a 12vdc test light if you don't have one already & start from plug, and keep probing back from there. It may be as simple as a bad connection under truck where joined into harness.

SOURCE: LEFT TRAILER TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT WORK

I have seen once before that the fuse box was bad on a 2003 Dodge 3500. I had power in and nothing out. We had to replace the box. Not cheap! Hope it is simple like a loose connection though. I think I had to pull the inner fender on the drivers side to access the bottom of the fuse box. Pain in the ****, but...

SOURCE: 2003 Chevy HD trailer wiring problem

I have the exact same issue. I have also tested my trailer on other vehicles and it works fine. I even purchased a light up tester and found the problem at the harness. It seems like a bad ground to me but I can't seem to find one.

The trailer lights have a common brake/turn wire while the truck has seperate turn and brake lights. I think the problem lies with the device that marries the two for the trailer wiring but I don't know where to find it?

take a test light and check for power at the pins, also try cleaning the pins on the conector. if you plug it in and the running lights still work on your truck its probably a broken wire.

you need a adapter for the flashing lights left and right as well the brake lights are seperate along with parking lights for the electric brakes you have to run a power direct to battery with circuit breaker installed on the line but if you look under the bumper near the drivers side in the back you have a connector installed by the company and you might be able to use it if that is what you did then you have to check the fuses because everthing is installed except the fuse for the connector so if thats what you did check the fuse box for missing fuses or burnt so green wire for right, white ground ,brown parking, yellow left the brake lights go through the adapter so check it out

your vehicle has a "integrated power module". its a fancy name for a smart fuse box. What likely happened is there is a problem with the trailer wiring. The power module detected the fault and shut down the running lights. The power module will need to be reset at the dealer.

Fuse 15 is a 50 amp fuse for the park lamp relay
Fuse 32 and 34 are 10 amp fuses for the right and left park lights
Fuse 33 is a 10 amp fuse for the trailer park lights.

After it is reset I would not plug in the trailer until the fault is located and repaired.

the problem may be in the plug on your vehicle, you need to check all the wires on the plug, one may be loose or not connected at all,if you think the problem is with the trailer you need to do the same with that plug as well.....hope this helps......cheers

I had the same problem on 06 ram, the problem is one of the controll modules under the fuse panel under the hood on the drivers side. My trailer mechanic told me this was a common problem and dodge will only charge about 700 dollars to replace it. he solved my problem by installing a converter on the wires to the tail lights of the truck then running down to the trailer plug. it was most likely caused by a short in the trailer and dodge in their infinate wisdom failed to put a fuse between the trailer and control module. and by the way even though this is a manufacturing defect they will not warranty the module. hope this helps.

Dodge trailer wiring

Check the owners manual to be sure of the location of the trailer fuses. Most have several locations for the fuses. Other than that, look for a loose or corroded connection. Also check http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx.
