Not sure what you are trying to ask. A converter is a converter. Are you wondering if the converter is original equipment or aftermarket?

I have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee withe the 4.7 l v8 and im getting a code that reads main catalys bellow threshold upstream bank 2 it idles ok except rpm needle bounces a little

Your catalytic converter is not doing it's job efficiently enough and it is setting off your sensor. This problem is emissions problem and usually has no effect on the operation of your vehicle( unless the converter clogs) As long as you don't live somewhere they do emissions test you don't really have to worry about it. However if you want to fix it you can take converter off and run a straight pipe or to do it "right" you could go pay way to much to get a new converter put on.

There are two oxygen sensors: one is upstream of the catalytic converter and one downstream of the catalytic converter. Need to know were the bank one , sencer one is on my buick century 2000 v6

Oxygen sensors are always numbered like this:
Bank 1 sensor 1
Bank 2 sensor 1
Bank 1 sensor 2
Bank 2 sensor 2

Some manufacturers use a kind of shorthand that reads different, but means the same thing:
Sensor 1/1 or O2s 1/1
Sensor 2/1 or O2s 2/1
Sensor 1/2 or O2s 1/2
Sensor 2/2 or O2s 2/2

Bank 1 is always the side of the engine where cylinder number 1 is located and, of coarse, Bank 2 is the opposite side.
On a 4 cylinder engine, there is only 1 bank and it is always referred to as Bank 1.

Sensor 1 is always the upstream sensor (The one located BEFORE the catalytic converter)
Sensor 2 is always the downstream sensor (the one that is located AFTER the catalytic converter.

Hope helps (remember to rate this).

Where is the oxygen sensor located on a 2000 grand vitara

There are 3 different engines available in that vehicle, and the location of the O2 sensors vary depending on which engine you have. The sensors are before and after the catalytic converter in the exhaust system. So the best way to find them is to find the catalytic converter and find the little plugs, which have wires on them, screwed into the exhaust pipe in front of and behind the converter. If you have the 2.7L V6 you will find that you have two converters which are bolted directly to the exhaust manifold and hence there are 4 sensors.

Where are the catalytic converters located on a 1996 mercury grand marquis?

The catalytic converters are located in the exhaust system, just after the engine, and prior to the muffler. Usually around the seating area. What kinds of problems are you having with them?

Need to replace catalytic converter heat shield - can I do this without getting a whole new catalytic converter - 2002 XL7

I just took mine off to keep it from rattling, and bought a heat resistant header tape and placed the tape right over the Catalytic Converter on the body it self. Good luck and keep me posted if you have any more questions.
