Question about 1997 Nissan Maxima

1 Answer

I boosted a vehicle the other day in my maxima, after that my vehicle would not turn over, all the lights are strong but my engine does not turn on, it is a brand new battery, i never had any problems till now. my vehicle turned on a couple of times yesterday but is doing the same thing as before. seems like there is a fuse that popped when i boosted the other car, but dont know which one to look at, there are 3 different fuse boxes, 1 under the dash, and 2 under the motor.

Sometimes jumpstarting can damage the computer.. I would try undoing the positive cable to your battery and leave it off for a minute to let the computer reset. Put it back on and try it again. If that doesnt work, Im afraid you will have to have someone check it out.. If an engine light is coming on, auto zone can check the codes for free..

How do i get my car running again it broke down i got a jump made it home and next day wont start no dash lights radio it doesnt do anything what is wrong ?

Give the battery a boost. If the car starts and stays running, chances are the alternator is ok. If the vehicle will not stay running, once boosted, there will be a charging system problem. Possible alternator. If the battery is more than 5 years old, it can also cause problems as the life expectancy of a battery is 5 yrs. Very doubtful you have a starter issue. I would bet on a battery or alternator/wiring issue

I have an 06 Chevy Cobalt and I went to turn it on yesterday and all it did was click and flash the lights on the dashboard. The radio will play but the car will not start. The message board says...

boost the vehicle .carefull that the other vehicle is off when boosting.this to protect both vehicles from voltage spikes.if you have a boost pack to keep the engine running.thats the best.way to boost the the battery over 5yrs old if so replace it first.

Engine light has been turned off repeatedly by local mechanic but keeps coming back on. Car has 142,000 miles and needs to be inspected, but won't pass inspection with engine light on

Check Lights have been on vehicles for 25 to 30 years.
You don't clear or turn off, until you retrieve codes and repair the issues that set the lamp.
Your vehicle isn't being diagnosed and repaired

2000 new beetle 2.0, driving all lights and engine shut down, any ideas. When I turn the key the instrument lights flash on and off.

It could be your alternator. Try boosting the vehicle, following proper boosting as per the owners manual. If the car will run a short time after being boosted, then die off with flickering of lights, its your alternator

P1320 trouble code plus

The P1320 code is essentially a coil primary voltage problem. This is traceable using a labscope or accurate DVOM and perhaps you can isolate one or two coils that still work but are close to failure...but there is a nissan service message recommending replacement of ALL coils with updated/improved models to prevent this type of failure. TCS/SLIP is traction control. Most likely you have a speed sensor issue. Be aware, some vehicles can falsely illuminate TCS because of low tire pressure in a single wheel.

My 1995 Nissan maxima Gle won't start. Everything lights up when I turn the key. What's wrong with it?

Does it even try to turn over, as in engine cranking? Tried a boost, if yes what happened?
