Question about 1999 Nissan Sentra

Car won't start

I tried to start my car this morning and it started for a brief moment, then killed. I attempted to restart it and it doesn't start but the engine is turning over. Could it be my starter? ....someone told me to over ride the silinode, but I don't know how that looks or where that would be located. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer. 1999 Nissan Sentra

My car won't turn over either. It sounds like it's going to start. But it doesn't. And the engine service light came on (first time ever) - 177K miles, 1999.

Try Replacing the started. its right on the back of the motor it attachs to the transmission. its not that hard getting it out. the hard part is getting it back in. my friend had the same problem. and it was the starter the silinode had just enough power to crank the motor, But wounldnt start it. so its the starter for sure. You can get a core charge at your Local Autozone. The Part About $132.00 its better than not having a car at all. Right? Well Hope All works out for you and good luck to you.

Car won't stay running after sits overnight and runs good after you do get it started

In the morning, turn key to on position for 5 seconds. Do not crank. Then turn off for 5 seconds. Repeat this about 5 times. Then try to start. If engine starts right up, the fuel pump check valve is bad. Meaning all fuel in fuel line is returning to the tank when car sits overnight. The only fix is to replace fuel pump. If that doesn't work, replace coolant temp. sensor for the computer. About a 12.00 part.

Wont start takes hours to start again

.When the injectors leak they flood the engine and holding pedal to the floor or waiting hours for fuel to dissipate. See if you have spark and fuel when it wont run. If there is no spark check the electronic control module under the cap

no. I'd suggest to disconnect a battery for 15 mins, reconnect, wait for 5 mins and try to restart. If it doesn't help (sometimes there's a program block to prevent stealing equipment) call a dealer

GO TO THE STARTER AND CHECK THE S TERMINAL(SMALL WIRE GOING TO SOLENOID) FOR POWER W/THE KEY IS CRANKED.IF NO POWER THERE THAN THE SECURITY SYSTEM MAY HAVE A PROBLEM.IF YOUR IGNITION KEY HAS A BLACK CHIP IN IT THAT IS FOR THE SECURITY SYSTEM.THE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER HAS 2 WIRES COMING OFF IT INSIDE THE STEERING COLLUM.THOSE WIRES BREAK QUITE OFTEN,THEN THE STARTER WON'T CRANK
