A brown sludge could be from someone putting in a quick fix can of engine block sealer/radiator stop leak or you can have oil entering your cooling system. It sounds as if you are losing water you could have a cracked head, or a head gasket needing replaced.
Sounds like it needs a shop.

If the check engine light is turn on or blinking, first suggets scanned the PCM to know exactly what fault code is advice and stores there. With this code number could send additional details about diagnostic tips or solution clues.

Keep in touch.

My 2002 chevy express van has no power, missing and running rough

Sounds like you got some bad gas. Be sure and let the station know right away. They may be on the hook to pay for repairs.
Take the van to a shop and have the computer checked for trouble codes.
The gas tank and lines may have to be flushed.

Why do water leaks out of my resivoir when i turn off the car

If you are talking about the overflow tank for the radiator, the tank should be half full when the engine is at operating temp. The extra coolant in the radiator flows into the tank when you turn off the engine, then is pulled back into the radiator when you start the engine.
Is the tank too full ?

Impala ss 1996 died while driving then later start up

May have been water or debris pulled into the injectors from running low on fuel . I would run it on some short local runs and a few fullness throttle bursts and see how she does . My favorite Chevy and a beautiful car .

2000 Mitsubishi diamante runs great till weather turned cold now having problems with idle dropping at lights and dying. New plugs and wires new battery cables and wires and good battery. Need opinion

  • This will happen to a lot of people as the weather begins to cool. I suggest making sure you get gas from a reputable service station for one. Just as important make sure to put a bottle of HEAT in your tank with every fill up(half a bottle for half a tank fill up on fuel).

  • What happens is there is already a certain amount of water no matter where you get fuel from as the storage tanks have a lot of water in them. That alone with the colder weather makes for rough starts and at times poor running conditions in the colder months because water freezes and makes the gas hard to pass through to the injectors and greatly effecting the engine firing properly. Heat will dry this water up and make your fuel flow much easier and burn a little better too.

  • Try this and you will notice a difference. Just about anyone will during the colder months.

  • Hope this helps.

Same the above with my 2000 cherokee sport 6 cyl. Check engine light came on and motor vibrated and ran ROUGH, I checked the exhaust for smoke, oil for anti freeze, both negative. Light started flashing so...

all are very possible but you can go to any chain auto parts to get your codes read especially if your light was flashing this indicates serious trouble once you have the codes its easier to help you but it sounds like a misfire to me meaning bad spark plug, wire or coil.

1999 Mazda Protege won't start.

Recheck that the spark plug firing order or in other words the spark plug wires are in the proper order after that checks out ok, then run dry gas in the car and check all vacuum hoses there may be a vacuum leak somewhere.

Rough idle, cruise control also stopped working

Sounds like you could have gotten some water in your fuel tank from that fill up. Go to a autoparts store and get a product to put in the tank that takes care of water in fuel. Use it when you fill the tank up a few times after and hopefully it goes away. Whenever you can't sustain power in the engine or it runs rough then your cruise control will constantly be shut off because the engine doesn't have the power to keep the speed up and should go away once your engine is running clean again.

Good Luck

Ran real low on gas

it sounds like you plugged your injecters put some STP gas treatment with injecter cleaner into the gas tank with at least a half a tank of gas and then finish filling it up and if this helps also replace the fuel filter

Running rough, no power misfiring

i had that problem once. when i got under half a tank of gas in the tank. What i did was i dumped one bottle of gas line deicer in the tank and i have never had it agian. you may have some water in the tank. from condasation or i have a stong feeling i got my water from the gas station. i was using the same station all the time. so i tryed another gas station and so far no more rough idleing which was caused by the water i think and i am getting better fuel milage to. i hope this helps.
