Your solution didn't work doors still will not lock with any electronic means only with key or by hand

I think you need to add this to you list of why the power door locks don't work after a new battery is installed. This truck takes a special battery and they do not sell many of these so the battery must have been on the shelf for a long time. I have a battery checker and it showed the battery to be low so I put my charger on the new battery and it is very good charger and will shut of when full charged. I left it on all night and this morning automatic door locks work along with everything else. There must be something that turns of other electronic items of if battery is low so the truck will still start. Don't know if thats the case I have a EE degree so I did some extensive checking before charging and couldn't find nothing wrong except battery being low. I hope this may help someone in the future with the same problem!

perhaps this is not a solution, but an experience. I removed the battery on my colorado 2005 to clean it. when reinstalled the alarm worked but the dorr lock motors were dead. the left window did not come down. i locked the dorrs wit the key and next morning I drove away. in the evening the locks came on and later the window worked again. I seems to as a kind of automated reprogramming to default state happened. now everything works.

check the vehicles BCM (Body control module). A body control module is a computer component in an automobile that checks, regulates and operates electronic devices throughout the car. This computer might be affected when you replaced the battery. Here's the picture of the BCM. Try to disconnect the wires from the BCM and reconnect it again. Please see this link for further information.

Since you disconnect your battery the computer in the car was reset. The autolock feature of this truck will need to be re enabled .

Programmable Automatic Door
Locks
If your vehicle has power door locks and the remote
keyless entry system, it will be equipped with an
auto lock/unlock feature which enables you to program
your vehicle's power door locks from the driver's
seating position.
If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, it will be
programmed to have all the doors lock automatically
when the shift lever is moved out of PARK (P). All the
doors will unlock when the shift lever is moved back
into PARK (P).
If your vehicle has a manual transmission, it will be
programmed to have all the doors lock when the vehicle
speed is greater than 15 mph (24 kmh). The doors
will unlock when the key is removed from the ignition.

Automatic Door Locks
This feature allows you to program your door locks to a
preferred setting.
To set your choice for this feature, perform the following
steps:
1. With the engine off, turn the key to LOCK. Do not
remove the key from the ignition.
2. Press and hold the power door lock button for
approximately three seconds until the DIC
display shows the current door lock mode.
3. To view the next available mode, press and hold
the reset stem for approximately two seconds.
Release the reset stem and press and hold again to
view each mode.
4. Once the desired mode is shown on the DIC
display, briefly press the reset stem to set your
choice. The DIC display will then clear.
The following are the available modes:
Lock 1 (default): On vehicles with an automatic
transmission, this mode locks all of the doors when the
vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P) and unlocks all of
the doors when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P).
On vehicles with a manual transmission, this mode locks
all of the doors when the vehicle speed is greater
than 15 mph (24 km/h) and unlocks all of the doors
when the key is removed from the ignition.
Lock 2: On vehicles with an automatic transmission,
this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle
is shifted out of PARK (P) and unlocks the driver's door
when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P).
On vehicles with a manual transmission, this mode
locks all of the doors when the vehicle speed is greater
than 15 mph (24 km/h) and unlocks the driver's door
when the key is removed from the ignition.
Lock 3: On vehicles with an automatic transmission,
this mode locks all of the doors when the vehicle
is shifted out of PARK (P). The doors will not
automatically unlock.
On vehicles with a manual transmission, this mode
locks all of the doors when the vehicle speed is greater
than 15 mph (24 km/h). The doors will not automatically
unlock.

Hope this helps

Sounds like you blew a fuse then. Check the fuse boxes and make sure that there arent blown fuses. They are easy to tell which ones are blown because they look burnt inside. If the problem is because of a fuse, replace the fuse. then use my previous solution to set the locking system to your preference. Let me know if this helps

Well I think that the question could have been more specific in the first place. If your battery was low then that means the truck would not start. If there isn't enough power to use the door locks then the car will not start. If you would have stated that in the original post that your truck does not start and that nothing electrical works it would have been easier to diagnose your problem. Please be more specific when posting questions on this website so that you get the best possible answer.

    Thank you

1999 porsche 996 replaced key fob battery disconnected battery now trunk releses are locked and cant access battery. How do you open frt trunk manually

Assuming the car battery is ok (if not, buy a male to male cigarette lighter at the auto store and connect to another car until charged enough to unlock the doors...but don't try to crank the ignition!). The trunks won't open if the battery went dead with the alarm set because arming the alarm physically locks the releases.

Sounds like the key code is switched off because you replaced the key fob battery. Try unlocking the car manual with the key in the door lock. Then switch the ignition on to reactive the keyless entry. If this does not work, you might also try pressing the fob unlock button with the key in the door lock until the dash led flashes.

It may be failing contacts in your remote; these are normally little carbon buttons that can either get fouled with contaminents or wear out if made too thin.
You may have to replace the remote to regain normal function.
