Question about 1987 Ford Ranger

My 1987 ford ranger does not have heat. the blower motor works just no heat at all. even when the truck has warmed up

Check coolant level, if coolant is full change your thermostat. If you got the truck with no heat, check to be sure the heater hoses were not disconnected to avoid changing a leaking heater core.

I get no poser to the ciol when I turn the key nothing works not even my heater switch to turn on the blower


have you checked the ignition fuse... in the engine bay fuse box...? starter motor sorting out can blow this fuse.

My 1987 Ranger has no heat and the blower motor works sometimes. If it comes on when you start the truck it stays on. If it doesn't come on when you start the truck sometimes it will come on when you hit...


check your coolant level then if it has coolant and not heating then your thermostat is bad. you may be hearing noise behind your glove box also.

My heater does not come on at all on my 1987 ford ranger. I replaced the blower but then applied pwr to the old blower...and it worked fine. So I decided to replace the thermostat. This provided no...


In the picture below to the right of the motor is the resistor. Take the cable off it and unscrew it. Take it out and inspect for heat damage. If you have an ohmmeter, check it for continuity. If it's bad, replace it. If the resistor is good the problem is likely to be the switch on the control panel.

Ford ranger 1987 problem with when turn on it


From 1986 thur 1995 Ford had problems with the TFI module over heating change it. Located on the bottom of the distributor.
