2003 mazda protege5-disconnected the battery and had it tested. It shows to be a good battery. When I re-connected it and tried to start it there were no lights on the dash, the radio didn't light up and nothing happened, no clicks or anything. What can I try?

Look for the main fuses in the engine compartment and fuseable links ( wires with rectangual rubber blocks the wire passes through)
any of these are probably bad.
if you know how to use a volt ohm meter it would make your search faster.

I have a 2003 Mazda Protege5. When I turn my lights on the transmission shifts to 3rd gear, D and R both light up, and my reverse lights come on. Any Ideas of where to start?

Yikes! Sounds like an electrical short from the lighting system to the transmission controls. I would see a mechanic about it. Shorts can be non-trivial to trace out and repair. Sorry I can't suggest something easy and less expensive.

2003 mazda protege5 recently started dying when i am driving in the city

If you can't duplicate the problem on demand it will be tough to find.
Very strange the problem does not happen on the road.
You say it dies, and runs the battery down.
When it dies, are you parked ? Does everything go off when you take the key out ?
Can you start it back up when it dies, and if so how long ? Do you have to let it sit overnight before it will start again ?

Were is the egr valve located for mazda rotege5

2002 Mazda Protege5 with the FS2.0 Motor. The EGR Valve is located below the throttle-body. You must take off the Intake tube to get a good view of it. To replace it I think you might have to take off the throttle-body.

Good luck (remember rated this).

2003 protege5 wont start unless jumped and dies after about 30 seconds.

Need to check battery condition first. Is it the original battery? If yes chances are it needs to be replaced. May have a dead cell or 2 & will not hold a charge. When it ran before this, was the check battery/charging light on? Also verify charging system is working correctly.

03 Mazda Protege5 81500 miles idel drops

If you are really thinking that the alternator is the problem have it properly tested. This will test the ripple and the output. If the ripple isn't right then that means a bad alternator. You would have to either take it to a shop to have the test done in the car or take it out and bring it into your general purpose car place, i.e. checkers. It could also be added resistance in your charge back wire to the battery.
