I have seen several of the v6 engines have bad waterpumps. The blades on the turbine are made from plastic and they wear off limiting water circulation.

Power to coils, no spark, just cranks, new coil pak,cam and crank sensor

It seems to me, by your comments that your engine may out of sinc with the ECM. This is almost worst case-scenario, so dont worry. You mention no spark? That is almost for sure the computer (ECM) but what led you to buy all these things. was the car running before you replaced or moved these items. I will need more info of what transpired before your resulting discovery. Please advise, GE

Why won't my 1998 Chevrolet pickup not start. Once it starts then it may not happen again for a while

It could be flooding out. The temp sensor could be sending the wrong signal. making the ECM think the engine is hot or cold and sending to much fuel or not enough. Disconnect both of your temp sending units one should be on the left side of the block(drivers side) the other should be on top in front of the engine. If the vehicle starts and runs then replace your sending units.

1998 ranger 2.5 manual enging miss

ck for leak at intake. if no leak pcm/ecm may be sending fire command to slow to # 1 . the fuel injector is always hot the ecm sends a ground to the injector. even new parts can be bad ck inj, with ohm meter resistance should be the same between each inj. im not sure of the specifications but they should read the same my jimmy specs are 1.9-2.1 any other reading is bad . no resistance or lower or higher readings my injector would be bad. 140 is good reading, timing can be off a little and still run but rough like a miss. a code wont set most misfires will set a dtc or flash the engine light to let you know damage to cat system is happening , to much fuel a system rich,to little a lean. a bad mass airflow meter can also cause a misfiring or rough idle ck with scanner if dirty clean with brake cleaner first before replacing . hope this helps some let me know how it goes.

Rad fan on always ofter engine shut off. no hot engine message temperture guage at normal range fan stays on @2-3min after engine turned of regardless of running 1 min or 1 hr.

The ECM gets it messages for heat from the engine coolant temperature sensor. The sensor is probably bad. Since the fans come on right away the ECM is in a safe mode for the engine. Meaning it turns the fans on because it can't read the coolant sensor. As far as the fans staying on for a couple of minutes this is normal when the engine is hot. The ECM does this.

turning on your ac turns on ac cooling fan which draws more air thru the radiator, but in this case i would replace water pump.

Gas needle want move and gas tank symbol stays on. 1998 Grand Cherokee jeep Limited 5.9

Sounds like your fuel gage sending unit has quit working. The fuel tank will need to be removed to gain access to the sending unit. Then you can replace the sending unit and replace the fuel tank to it;s position and your good to go.Good luck.

Engine cooling fan not turning on.

actually the contour and mystique both have this problem they tend to overheat and ruin engines and transmissions when the fan quits working the best fix is a kit you get from ford or advance auto parts it makes the coolong fan run all the time the engine is on and this will save you lots of problems in the future, not only am i a master automotive tech but i have owned 6 of these cars. the 96 mystique beng my favorite. mercury version. good luck james
