1990 Focus ??? The Ford Focus was introduced in North American in 1999 as a 2000 model. Available in several different body styles, the 2000 Focus models were equipped with a transverse-mounted, in-line, four-cylinder engine coupled to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, which drove the front wheels.

Water pump in locate the front of the engine block on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Locate the water pump pulley, which is mounted at the front of the block directly above the crankshaft pulley, which is at the bottom of the engine block.

Observe the area directly behind the water pump pulley, as this is where the water pump is mounted to the front of the engine block with retaining bolts.

I'm trying to look and find vacuum diagrams about this engine without luck, then you could visit your local library and ask for some repair manual Haynes or other.

Keep us updated.

What direction do you undo the bottom pulley on the engine block to get in to change the water pump on a 1600 zetec engine.

just done one yesterday and a diesel peugeot as well ,its easy on teh older models as it has a keyway unlike the focus ,put socket on nut and a long breaker bar then position it so its down a bit from lower track control arm and turn the key ,the starter motor will undo it for you ,remember to put a bit of locktight on the thread when rebuilding to stop it coming loose unless you have the special tool that locks the flywheel after removing the starter motor ,no locktight then a bit of contact adhesive will do the same job

Location of water pump on engine

The easiest way for you to locate the water pump is the follow the bottom radiator line from the radiator to the engine. Where it connects to the motor is the water pump. It should be on the front of the engine. Make sure you trace the lower radiator line that is about 1 and 1/2 to 2 " in diameter.

No water going through thr heater hoses. The engine is not over heating, just not getting any heat out of heater.I disconected the heater hose going into the heater control valve and get no water.

then your heater control valve is bad, does it have a vacumn line going to it? if so check to see if there is any vacumn ,if have have vacumn to the valve and it does not open then replace it!

Car stalling and shaking

Check for vacumn leaks. Replace coil. Check plug boots for oil or water on them. PCV hose from intake manifold will get soft and collapse. Replace motor mounts. The passanger side mount is a fluid filled mount.
