I have a Tecumseh OHV130 206810C. It sat idle for 2 years and was gummed up. Cleaned everything up but can only get it to run by spraying gas into the air intake. Could there be a fuel pump problem an

You follow the hose from the bottom of you fuel tank right to the fuel pump. If you don\'t have a pump, that same hose will go to your carburetor. Either way disconnect the hose from the carburetor. Put a can under hose and turn over engine. If gas flows your pump is OK. Next remove bowl off bottom of carburetor, ( with can under bowl), I believe you will find crap & water in the fuel bowl. I would drain all fuel from tank, hoses, and pump. Clean fuel bowl , you may need new bowl gasket, put in fresh fuel, try to start. Water in the fuel is a very common problem when you hear NO START. Caution when dealing with fuel, remember SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY, and did I forget to mention SAFETY. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Fuel engine stops then start up in 1 min

You probably have an electronic ignition system to go with those fuel injectors. It sounds like it runs just long enough to empty the fuel out of the injectors, which means there might be a vacuum problem. I'm a carburetor person myself. Are you sure it sound like it NEEDS gas or could it be flooding?

1968 mustang 302 standard 2 bbl carb will turn over and sound like it wants to stay running but will not.

Remove the air cleaner and carefully pour small amounts of gas down the carburetor. Have a fire extinguisher near by. If the motor keeps running then the engine is not getting fuel. Check the fuel pump & gas filter.

Trying to start my 560 sel up have a new battery and put gas in...should i put gas in the carburetor also

hi no you shouldn't need to do this, this sounds more like the fuel pump is not working, i had one of these myself and found on 2 occasions the fuel pump gave in and also the wiring to the pump was u/s so before you do anything else, what you need to do is, while listening in the boot/trunk of the car get someone to turn key to position 2 but not turn it over, just listen in the boot for a whining sound, it will go for about 20 seconds then it should stop, if you do not hear it then your pump is either u/s or you need to check the wiring, alltho mine was older than yours, i just "hot wired" the pump so it worked hope this helps

Uncouple the fuel line coming from the pump at the carburetor, place a clean can under the line, and have someone operate the starter--you should have fuel shoot from the line in spurts as the engine turns. If it does, then the entry port on the carburetor is plugged. Remove the float assembly and pull out the float needle valve. Hook the fuel line back to the carburetor and try the starter again, there should be fuel pumping into the float bowl. If not, check to see if there is a filter on the fuel inlet path that may be plugged. If no filter, remove the float needle seat to see if something is blocking the fuel passage. If all else fails, use compressed air to blow backwards through the needle seat (remove the fuel line again). Hope some of this helps!

Will not start, does turnover, but seems to be getting no gas. will turn over if i spray auto start in the carborator.

check fuel filter to see if its clogged. (cheapest easiest)
if that doesnt work rebuild carburetor (expensive but fairly simple)
if that doesnt work pull tank if it is low on gas or pull bed if gas tank is full a replace fuel pump (time consuming, hard to do, but fairly inexpensive) I had this problem on a silverado I had and it was the fuel pump.

83 Ford F150 6 cylinder will run fine but won't start on its own.

Sounds like a fuel pump problem. Try keeping the gas from getting too low. This causes the fuel pump to push sediment and other debris from the bottom of the tank and clogs up your fuel filter.
