I have a 1992 ford f150 and it is not geting power to the fuel pump, however i had the fuel pump and relays teasted and they are good. What could be the problem?

Hi, your circuitry is shown below. The relay coil is powered by the PCM relay but get's it's ground turn-on from the PCM separately. There is an intertia switch in the power circuit, and If you have dual tanks, there is also the tank switch to worry about. What I would do is interrogate the pump relay socket to see what's going on. Pull the relay out and use a 12 volt test light as follows:

Connect the test light clip to chassis ground, and probe the relay socket. You should get one hot terminal from the 20 amp fuse O. Next, turn the key on and probe the socket again. You should have 2 hot terminals, the additional one coming from the PCM relay.

Next, move your test light clip to battery positive and probe the socket again. With the key still on, you should get a light from the PCM ground signal. This is the one that is usually a problem. If you don't get this light, the PCM is not turning the pump on (perhaps due to a security system) or you have a bad wire from the PCM (pin 22) to the relay.
There is also usually a dim light on the last terminal (that goes to the pump). If you don't get that dim light, your inertia switch or tank switch may have failed open.

Please let me know if you have questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Where is the fuel line for a 93 ford probe gt? and is the fuel pump in the fuel tank. and why is my fuel cutout light on?

The fuel lines run from the fuel pump (which is in the tank) under the car to the to the fuel rail in the top of the engine. The fuel cutoff light means that the inertia switch has been triggered. It is a black box with a red button located in the hatch area.

How do i remove the fuel pump from the gas tank on

It's much easier than it seems. First, get as much fuel out of the tank as you can. Put the back of the car on jackstands so that you have plenty of clearance. Disconnect the neg. battery cable. put a piece of plywood between your floor jack and the tank and raise the jack until it is snug and flush against the tank. Open the fill hatch and remove the screws that connect the fill tube to it. Now locate the two straps that are holding the tank on. There will be one bolt per strap. Remove them. Have someone on standby in case you need another pair of hands. Get out from under the car and lower the jack as slowly as you possibly can. Be ready to stop it instantly in case the tank slips out of place. Empty, the tank weighs nothing and won't hurt you. Full, it could weigh 150 lbs or so. As you lower the tank, keep an eye on the fill tube (or have your helper watch it) to make sure it's not getting hung up and is lowering with the tank. You'll see the sending unit on the top of the tank. Unplug the wires. There is a ring around the sending unit that you will tap counterclockwise with a screwdriver and hammer (TAP being the keyword here). The ring will turn until it pops out. Now you can grab the sending unit and pull the pump out. (The sending unit is on top of the pump. They're one piece) You may need to drop the tank all the way down and it's a good idea because you won't have to keep it balanced on the jack while you're working on it. Putting it back is just reversing the order. You'll be suprised at how easy this is. Especially if you can empty the tank. Emptying it isn't 100% necessary and not even always possible but if you can, by all means do. If you work on it with a tankful of gas, be very careful. It's heavy.

Access panel for the fuel pump on a 1993 ford probe

the 93+ probe's (2nd generation) DO NOT have an access panel under the seats, or anywhere. only the 89-92 probe's did (1st generation) To gain access to the fuel pump, you have to drop the gas tank. or get handy with a cutter, and hope you dont blow yourself up.

Please help

Hi...
The Canister on your PROBE is located at Right side of engine compartment In front of firewall beside of the A/C dryer.
The first you need to check is : The FUEL CAP. The FILLER hose of the fuel Tank. for cracked or Pinched at any side.
ALL the hoses of the fuel tank Must be good.
Now go to the Engine side. the Vaccum on the Evap. Selenoid . if there a Vaccum check the selenoid for proper funtionallity. If the Selenoid is OK.
Check the line coming from the Selenoid to the Canister.
The line must be OK. with loos of vaccum.
Check the Line from the canister to the Fuel tank. replace if need. One of the lines goes to the Air cleaner Hose.
But if the Vanister (charcoal) need to be repleced replace with a New ONE.

I hope this help to try solve your problem.
