U most likely have a bad gear pak in ur window motor, which can b serviced seperatly, or u have a window regulator that consists of plastic pulleys an steel cables monted on stamped steel frames, which are weak designs an almost always fails causing condition u decribed. if u remove dr panel u can see a bad regulator by noticing cables jus layn around not hooked to anything,or cables not routed thru the small plastic pulleys.if all ur cables are intact the gear pak which consists or plastic parts for safety reasons, has gone bad an can b serviced without buyng a new mtr, jus purchase the gear pak install an ull b bak in business. good luck

Where is fuse box on 1997 mercury marquis

All windows are on the same fuse in your vehicle.
If one window is not working, it is either a switch problem, a motor problem, or a regulator problem.
You will need to remove the door panel and see if the motor is getting voltage when the switch is actuated. If there is voltage at the motor connector when the switch is actuated, check to make sure that the regulator mechanism hasn't seized due to lack of lubrication (they are supposed to be lubricated annually but nobody remembers to do it.... then they seize).
If you can HEAR the motor turning but it is not moving the window, the plastic gear in the motor assembly has broken off. Chances are you will need to replace the window motor.

1997 mercury grand marquis wipers

We have the same problem on our 97 Grand Marquis. We have replaced the wiper blades and the drivers wiper arm with a used one. The problem was not completely solved but it did work better. We are going to replace the arm with a new one and see if that works better.

The rear drivers side is stuck down and i need to pull it back up, the other windows all work? any solutions ,i already removed the door panel but can't grasp the window

Hello, If the window regulator is broken, you should be able to push the window frame up from the bottom of the door. The window motor will not stop you unless the window regulator is still good. In that case, you will need to remove the motor. Check for power at the motor terminals, you may have a bad window switch and leave the motor alone.

The bottom of the window, once loose, can be braced with wood and small "C" clamps if you just want it up until you fix it.
