Question about 2003 Audi A4 Cabriolet
I have only had my 53 reg cabriolet for 4 weeks, but this has already happened TWICE! . i paid Audi #55.00 to reset the computer, they said their diagnostics said there is no other fault, but now it has happened again. I have only opened the roof four times.
The problem may not be in the top itself rather the pistons/shocks that open the compartment lid. Try manually closing the top as directed in the owners manual and then try opening again. If it starts and then stops halfway you should have the pistons/shocks checked.

Make sure the car is on level ground. I had the same problem several times. Finally figured out in talking with the Audi service adivsor that if the car is on a hill (like my driveway) internal sensors can't tell the position of the top so it stops.
The owners manual has procedures for manually closing/locking the top.
