I've had this problem also. I followed the instructions exactly and nothing happened. I troubleshot the issue and I realized that the clamp on to the door latch was not making a ground connection. Try touching the ground clamp directly to the head of one of the bolts on the door latch. This worked for me and the hood opened instantly. The quality of the ground connection seems to be the key. By the way, if you do not want to use a donor battery, a battery charger will provide sufficient power to release the hood latch. Good luck!

I have a porche boxter s 20000, the trunk and hood release latches located on the d/s door well dont move at all , they seem to be locked in place so i cannot open the trunk/hood without the keyfob, also...

The cable on the underside of the body have bound up. The bind is most likely at the brackets where they attach to the levers under the body. I hope this helps! Please rate if so.

Have a good day!

I have a dead battery on my 2002 Porsche Boxter and can't open the hood to jump it. How do I open the hood with a run down battery?

Hello there

In your right front fender is an "emergency operating cable" to open the front hood.
To get to it you need to remove the fender lining and there next to the rear of headlight is the cable.

My Boxter battery is dead and I am not able open the trunk lid.

I have two Boxsters and have had to use this fuse box procedure on each. On the first car I followed the instructions in the manual and it worked perfectly. On the second car, I followed the identical procedure and nothing happened. After much fiddling, I realized that the clamp on to the door latch was not making a ground connection. Try touching the ground clamp directly to the head of one of the bolts on the door latch. This worked for me and the hood opened instantly. The quality of the ground connection seems to be the key. By the way, if you do not want to use a donor battery, a battery charger will provide sufficient power to release the hood latch. Good luck.

I have a porsche boxter 986 year 2000 and can not open the bonet

you need to pull the C3 fuse and insert a wire and then put the fuse back in.
connect the neg ground to the metal steering column and the positive to the wire. close the car door and turn the door key on and off three times. open the door and now the hood latch will work.
