Replaced motor, starting hard. runs fine . how do I check fuel pressure

Doubtful you have a fuel pressure problem if the car runs well, poor starting can be a few things , poor air circulation air filter needs cleaning or replacing, poor injector flow warn injectors or just dirty fuel additive sometimes clears this , poor spark plugs not firing under pressure ok when started . for diesel cars you don't say what car it is , poor glow plugs . bad fuel filter , air leaks in fuel pump , poor injectors . and especially with diesel poor compression due to worn rings or head gasket failure . You may even have just have disturbed the engine earth strap when you replaced your starter motor .

Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.5 L poor engine performance, very flat. Good idle, not missing. Could the timing chain be the cause. No codes when scanned.

I would suggest a compression test as an engine with those miles on it will be close to being badly worn
If thee is a chain problem it will not be running

2004 dodge stratus, there is a small fan located under the air intake system that is running with the switch off. this is killing the battery.

this fan is meant to' run on' after turning ignition off to cool down the fuel injectors etc so the fuel does'nt evaporate whilst the engine cools down .Two things here 1. Does the fan NEVER stop, it may run for 5-10 mins at most , if it runs longer than this then the timer relay may need replacing .2 If the fan goes off and then your battery is flat later i'd say it was the condition of the battery at issue as may not be holding the charge , so you can get the battery condition checked easily , if it is the battery at fault get the alternator charge rate checked as well as this may be the cause of poor battery condition .Hope that helps

My car won't stay running when cold.I replaced the idle air control valve, and it didn't fix the problem.

The idle air control valve is designed to adjust for the load on the engine to maintain the idle quality. When it's cold out, it's more important that the engine temperature sensor is working correctly so that it can trim the fuel richer to compensate for the cold running conditions. Also, a dirty Mass Air Flow sensor could give you problems with your idle. A shop could easily diagnose the poor idle quality for a reasonable fee if you don't feel like throwing parts at it again. Have you experienced unusually poor fuel economy or better than normal fuel economy this winter?

Poor acceleration

As you haven't stated if its petrol or diesel, I can only give you a general check list. 1. fuel pressure/delivery rate/fuel pressure regulator. 2. fuel filter. 3. intake manifold air control solenoid. 4. air intake system/vacuum system - leaks/blockage. 5.air filter. 6. exhaust system/catalytic converter. 7. engine compression. 8. ignition system. 9. injectors. 10. engine management system - connections. 11. crankshaft position sensor. 12. evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. 13. Mass air flow sensor (MAF). 14. Throttle position (TP) sensor. 15. Engine/clutch/breaks condition. 16. Engine control module (ECM). It seems a lot to check, but that is the list given from a data sheet. Knock yourself out and have fun.

Runs rough

The problem of rough running of vehicle may also arise due to following reason other than you mentioned and they are listed below:

1. Bad gasoline condition

2. Clogged Air Filter

3. Poor fuel filter
4. Discharged battery

5. Low oil in reservoir

Check for the components and solve the issues. Cleaning or replacing the air filter and fuel filter can solve the issue. Charge the battery if it is discharged or replace it with new one if in bad condition. Refill the oil reservoir.

2 problems: (1)Intake gasket leak (2) low power above 2500 RPM

sounds more like 1 problem.
Fix the intake gasket to get the proper fuel/air mixture and that will correct the poor running condition.

I filled up my 2002 Mazda MPV yesterday at Walmart, Manning

Could be bad gas, water in the gas? Run the tank down to about 1/4 and put gas from somewhere else in it. Maybe higher octane for one tank full. Maybe put an additive in with it. If it clears up, then it was the gas.

When it gets hot outside, above 80 normally, and ecpecially when I run the air conditioning,it bogs down when you try to go in passing gear, and only runs at half a peddle I just replaced fuel pump and...

You may have computer sensor problems. Humidity and temperature of air affect fuel regulation controls in moden engines. Cool morning to hot afternoon and system still thinking it is cool thus engine has very poor performance. This vehicle has what is called a driveability issue and is ususally a bear to figure out without the proper scanning equipment.
