The throttle positioning sensor should be right next to the throttle body area, near the throttle plate, which opens up and closes for acceleration, and de acceleration, with a wire connection to it, you will have to remove the wire connection, and then remove the sensor, and line the new one back up, the same way you removed the old one, then recoonect the wire connection, start vehichle, and should run fine, if service engine light is on, shut engine off, and then remove the negative battery cable, for about 1 minute, then reconnect it, re start vehichle, light should have went out, you will have to reset clock, and radio functions again, hope that this has been very helpful to you.

Check your fuel pressure and check the code. Could be a TPS Throttle Position Sensor.

My 1996 chevy silverado runs so poorly that it vibrates it pulls hills about 25 mile an hour i cant give it throttle because it would fall on its face

is your check engine light on? if so, have the codes read at your local auto parts store. having these codes can narrow your search to find the cause of your problems

Autozone.com has a great site that tells you how to test sensors and hard parts. become a member and search their repair guide

These are things I would consider;

Clogged fuel filter / injectors / contaminated fuel
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor
Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
Clogged Catalytic Converter
Worn / corroded ignition parts.

My idol sits around 100-300 RPM

your idle should be around 750 to 850 in park or neutral
i don't know how it even runs at the rpm you listed.
your vehicle should have a tps sensor
"throttle positioning sensor" you might have to have it reset

Check your MAP and TP sensors. Your throttle body may be having trouble determining position and is compensating by adjusting RPMs.
