These lines are called engine oil cooler lines and is a common problem.you can only change them in pairs, there is also a gasket or 0 rings seals that should be replaced at the same time were the lines connect to the filter housing.

While driving my chev 454 truck the oil pressure went to 0 psi

A leaking filter and oil pressure switch would cause the lack of oil pressure. Does the oil light work and does it go out now you have changed these parts. It only needs approx 8 psi to put the light out, the engine should run at approx 40 psi at 2000 rpm.

That is the oil cooler. Remove the oil filter. That exposes a large 'nut'. Remove the nut (and the 2 lines going in/out) and replace the oil gasket/O ring. If original oil cooler is dent or damaged, replace cooler as well. Could also just come from the lines going in and out of the cooler (put new hose clamps on).

depends on if you got the extended package and what your dealer offered at the time of purchase, But I would certainly check with the dealer, about that leak, but I doubt the power steering hose problem added to that

I have a 2003 gmc sierra 5.3 liter vortec why does my truck leak oil only under pressure

because your oil pressure rises to around 40psi when running and will leak at the weakest place, check your oil sending unit first and seals.

Oil Leak on engine drips down from oil filter area, possibly behind manifold. Any common leak problems on this engine?

I would say the rear Valve Cover Gasket is leaking. Common problem on this model. They get old and brittle and...leak.

I would immediately take it back to wherever you got the oil change, and at least get it documented that it was two quarts low. check under vehicle to make sure it is not still leaking. Sometimes the oil filter seal gets stuck on after the old filter is removed, then the new filter is put on and you have two gaskets, that 100% of the time do not line up correctly and leaks when engine is under power. and may not leak at idle or static. If you have a friend to go with you as a witness, make sure they put it up on the rack in front of you to check the oil filter gasket and the drain plug (bolt). If it was their fault you may have recourse if severe damage to your engine occurred. This 5.7 liter should run normal on 3 quarts, but not at all the best thing to do to your engine.

Bad oil leak driver side front fender

There is an adapter for the oil filter with 2 lines coming out of it above the drive shaft from the transfer case to the front differential. The O ring on these will go sometimes causing loss of oil. Also check the 2 lines for leaks and cracks.

Oil leaking everywhere air cleaner full of oil seems to be blowing up thru carbie still runs but oil loss cant be good.......Kevin

its called blow by.you have compression leaking past the rings, which is pressurizing the oil and the pcv system which burns crankcase fumes,is now putting oil into the carb.put a filter that is not too restrictive in front so the air,not oil goes in the carb.eventually the oil will gum up the system.in the 60s the engines had braether caps and did not reburn the crankcase fumes.
