SOURCE: code P1413

The code refers to the secondary air pump. This pump helps reduce pollution by injecting air in the exhaust system for up to 30 seconds at cold startups.

Possible causes:
Bad Air Pump. Fix: replace air pump, it is found low, under the battery
Bad Relay (controls the air pump) :
The relay is in the relay box next to the battery. It is the relay in the left upper corner when looking towards the driver.

SOURCE: heater blower motor not working and a/c not

The problem could be a relay that could be bad .It is possible that it is located in the fuse box in the engine compartment. It should indicate on the cover what the relays operate. These relays can be tested to see if working properly, but I would recomend that you allow a mechanic to test them since all relays are set up differently. Also if you have the manual for the car it should show in the fuse replacement where the fuses and relays are located.

Check the air pump fuse under the hood (30 amp). If that's good, you probably need to replace either the solid state relay, the pump itself, or at worst, the ECU.

1997 ford taurus diagnostic code p1413 how to fix

It's the secondary air injection pump relay low voltage.
First thing to check is the fuse.
Other possibilities are,
stuck motor,
bad relay,
corroded connections, it's in a bad place where water and road grime can damage the connections. It's located in front of tire, driver side,up under fender well area, try tapping on it, sometimes that will work. But check the fuse first.

P1413 is the electric secondary air injection pump related, most times the issue is with one of three things, the relay for the pump motor is defective, the air injection hoses havwe come off at the pump, or the pump motor is defective, do you hear the pump run when you jumper the relay? check that first.

CODE #P1413

hi

I believe that P1413 is an electric air pump problem. The electric air pump itself, the relay that controls it, or (you hope not) wiring between computer and air pump, or the computer itself. Answer P1413 Secondary Air Injection System Monitor Circuit Low Detailed Description The secondary air injection system monitor circuit is low, indicating the electrical AIR pump is off although the electrical AIR pump was commanded on by the PCM. Possible causes :- Open B+ circuit. Open AIR circuit. Damaged PCM. Air circuit short to ground. Damaged AIR pump. Damaged solid state relay. Diagnostic Aids The AIR monitor circuit is held low by the resistance path through the AIR pump when the pump is off. Also, look for open circuit from SSR to AIR pump.

Engine code?

p1413 “Secondary Air Injection System Monitor Circuit Low Voltage”

Often, this is an electric AIR pump failure. It is located in the driver side portion of the front bumper cover. Check connections, wiring, fuses, etc. Also check hoses and the solenoid and vacuum controlled AIR management valve mounted in front of the crank pulley.
