Question about 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I need to know how to find out why the cooling fan is not coming on at all. I do not want to buy a fan assembly if I do not need to because it might be something else.

Be certain that your electric cooling fan is coming on. I have the same issue right now. It actually got so hot the first time we noticed there was a problem that it cracked my radiator. Replaced with one from Autozone for $150. Dealer wanted $350. I ordered a cooling fan on ebay that should come in today for $70.

Likely your fan relay internal contacts have burned closed. Relay should be either in the power distribution center or in front of the battery.

Many cars have a thermoswitch threaded into the radiator that activates the fans when engine exceedes normal optimum opperating temp. This sensor may have failed , or one of the 2 wires that go to it may have come unpluged or broken
