Question about Oldsmobile Regency

1 Answer

The temperature gauge in my 1997 Olds regency unexpectedly dropped to 0 and I heard a warning beep, the blower was throwing heat and when I shut the car off and restarted it registered correctly again. Any ideas?

It sounds like an electrical problem, most likely a bad wire, or connection near the sensor. Check for corrosion, as well as broken, loose wiring.

If the valve lifters are quiet you most likely have oil pressure even with gauge showing "0".Sounds like the oil pressure switch going bad.I would try that first.

How do your repair the heater in 1998 olds regency? The temperature readout flashes, the temperature gauge on the dash is not working, it blows hot out of one vent on bilevel setting.

Sounds like the heater control unit is going bad. I believe this unit has a digital/vacuum control unit which explains why you are only getting hot out of one vent. Try the salvage yard or ebay for a replacement unit. They are non-repairable...
