Question about 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK
In the trunk on the right side, you need no special tools it can be done with an adjustable wrench, you may need a screwdriver to get the cover from the battery compartment, the repair manual does not tell what is holding the cover on but it should be obvious....good luck
